While the City of San Antonio Department of Human Services operated Senior Centers and Nutrition Sites are temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Declaration, meals and San Antonio Food Bank commodities are available for pickup or delivery by the Department of Human Services.

All Senior Center members enrolled in the Senior Nutrition Program will receive meal distributions and San Antonio Food Bank commodities at the senior centers during the closure. West End Park Senior Center Food Bank provides approximately 50-60 pounds of food to seniors each month. Food is chosen to accommodate the special dietary needs of the senior population and includes produce, protein, whole grains and staples that will help the seniors live healthy and independent lives.

Zumba Gold is a lower-intensity version of the typical Zumba class and was designed to meet the anatomical, physiological and psychological needs of seniors. Perhaps Zumba Gold will provide a suitable option for older adults seeking alternative means of reaching their exercise goals.

Provides senior adults, 60 years and older, and spouses, in Bexar County, with a nutritionally balanced lunchtime meal in a congregate setting with supportive services consisting of: • Companionship • Nutrition Education • Basic Health Screenings • Social Services • Outreach activities • Recreation and Dance • Computer Classes* • Arts and Crafts • Exercise Classes* • Transportation* Seniors enrolled at any of the city operated Senior Centers and live within a five-mile radius of the center may qualify for morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off to and from the senior center.
