Black Outside, Inc (Nonprofit )

Black Outside, Inc is a 501c3 (pending) organization. Our mission is to provide transformative outdoor educational experiences to students of color.

Black Outside provides culturally relevant outdoor experiences to youth of color across central Texas. We (re)connect youth to the outdoors through school-site programming, overnight summer camps, and weekend overnight summits. We intentionally craft experiences that build off of the powerful history of people of color in the outdoors and deepen the leadership skills of youth.

This program is active from March 1, 2024 until June 30, 2024

In the summer of 2019, Black Outside, Inc proudly resurrected America's first summer overnight camp for black girls: Camp Founder Girls which began in San Antonio, TX.

Today Camp Founder Girls carries on the proud legacy of Founder Girls past by providing an immersive week-long overnight camp centered on bravery, confidence, creativity, and strength.
