Two student groups attend twice weekly (Monday, Wednesday, or Tuesday, Thursday) for one-on-one mathematics and language arts guidance.

Enrollment is by teacher referral or parent request. There is no cost to the parents for this community service.

The YES Center is located at 823 North Street on the northeast corner of the FPC campus and is led by Director Ann Reynolds. Contact her at (830) 896-1937 or [email protected].

FPC partners with the San Antonio Food Bank for this monthly ministry. It is a pop up food distribution market located in the parking lot.

Each month a team of more than 20 volunteers distribute thousands of pounds of food, fresh vegetables, meat, and nonperishables – to over 300 in our community. We have a busy couple of hours, but everyone walks away with a smile.

Church recommends arriving early, as the market gets very busy.

Free.

Stephen Ministers extend the care of the congregations to those with a variety of needs.

First Presbyterian Church's Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

We all experience challenges in life - times when we could benefit from the support of a caring Christian friend. Stephen Ministers are ready to provide the emotional and spiritual care we need when faced with a crisis or difficulty such as:

  • Loss of a loved one
  • Hospitalization
  • Divorce or separation
  • Loneliness or discouragement
  • Spiritual crisis
  • Unemployment or a job crisis
  • Chronic or terminal illness
  • Incarceration
  • Aging
  • Birth, adoption, miscarriage, or infertility
  • Relocation
  • Recovery after an accident or disaster

Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry: the identity of those receiving care and what takes place in each caring relationship remains private.

Stephen Ministry is open to the public; church membership is not required.
