āThe Boerne Community Coalition (BCC) is a 100% all-volunteer 501c3 organization that works in partnership with other local organizations including churches, schools, non-profits, local government, civic groups and businesses who all share the same vision – that children in our community should not be at risk of being hungry.
Food for children, home repair, children's programs, community meals, volunteerism.
This program provides brand, new bunk beds, mattresses, comforters, sheets, and pillows for children without beds. Volunteers help to deliver and assemble the bunk beds on site. A proper bed is a basic need for a child’s emotional, mental, and physical health. Every child should have a safe and comfortable bed to sleep in at night!
Must reside in Kendall County.
Through our relationships with local agencies and churches, the BCC becomes aware of essential needs and organizes community donations on behalf of local families. Thanks to generous individuals in our community, we have been able to connect families in need with basic household goods including appliances, clothing, and furniture.
In an effort to respond to homeowner needs, the BCC works in partnership with local churches, individuals, and non-profit organizations, like Golfers Fore Others, to connect volunteers with specific home repair projects as they occur throughout the year.
Families in need with basic household goods including appliances, clothing, and furniture.
The BCC typically organizes one workday each year in neighborhoods with homes in need of critical repairs. These days include volunteers working alongside the homeowners for cleanup and repair, coordinated children’s games and activities, and a shared meal with the volunteers and neighborhood families.
Nutritious, bountiful lunches are prepared each weekday during the summer and school breaks. Each weekend food bag consists of 4 meals and a variety of snacks. Throughout the school year, the bags are delivered to children enrolled in the Kendall County Head Start program. During the summer break, the bags are delivered to children participating in the Summer Lunch Program.?
