Boerne Community Coalition
San Antonio Community Resource Directory

an all-volunteer organization that works in partnership with other local organizations who all share the same vision – that children in our community should not be at risk of being hungry. We operate three programs that provide year-long support to area children and their families, with a focus on meals, access to enrichment, and help with making homes safer and more livable.

Through our relationships with local agencies and churches, the BCC becomes aware of essential needs and organizes community donations on behalf of local families.  Thanks to generous individuals in our community, we have been able to connect families in need with basic household goods including appliances, clothing, and furniture.

The BCC typically organizes one workday each year in neighborhoods with homes in need of critical repairs.  These days include volunteers working alongside the homeowners for cleanup and repair, coordinated children’s games and activities, and a shared meal with the volunteers and neighborhood families.

In partnership with Kendall County Head Start and the Boerne Family YMCA, the BCC hosts a monthly dinner for preschoolers attending the Head Start program and their families.  We ask businesses, churches, and/or individuals to sign up to provide a portion of the meal.  The families enjoy wonderful, home-cooked meals together.  All dinners include a craft and/or physical activity for the children and parent support programming for the adults.
