Many educators have questions about how to align instruction with the science of teaching reading after professional development.

Implementing and integrating the science of teaching reading in classroom instruction is complex, time consuming and can be overwhelming without the right support.

Implementation Services:

  • TX Reads develops implementation plans for the science of teaching reading during and after the Texas Reading Academy. We work with educators to bridge professional development to practice by:
  • Building upon teacher knowledge of key concepts to help educators navigate new information;
  • Customize in-person and virtual training, workshops, presentations, and coaching in evidence-based literacy instruction based on partner needs and our expertise;
  • Breaking the science of reading into logical implementation steps so teachers apply new information and skills in daily instruction and master new skills over time.

We partner with educators to systematically build the capacity of campus instructional coaches and teachers through focused professional development “refreshers,” coaching and learning support.

We’re focused on helping teachers develop and apply data-driven instructional decision making for highly effective instruction, including: assessment, progress monitoring, and skill-based grouping.
