Windmill Wellness Ranch (Business )

Located on a 75-acre ranch settled in 1840 in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, Windmill Wellness Ranch is a co-occuring inpatient and outpatient treatment center specializing in trauma therapies, substance use disorder and mental illness.

At Windmill Wellness Ranch, we are a dual diagnosis, or co-occurring, treatment center focusing on treating the whole person. We're also the only facility using Brain Frequency Center iTMS technology to heal the brain.

The mission of Windmill Wellness Ranch is to improve the physical, spiritual and emotional health of the individual through an integrated healing system. We want to help the body restore itself to its natural, authentic state to facilitate healing, recovery, health, and longevity.

Each person comes to us with a different set of wounds and circumstances. WWR works to heal the entire individual, not just the addiction or behavior. We treat underlying issues, such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and other mental health or neurocognitive issues.

iTMS induces neuromodulation. Neuromodulation is the process of resetting the brain frequency to the same rate in all functional areas of the brain.

An electroencephalogram (EEG) measures electrical patterns of the brain. These patterns reflect cortical activity and are commonly known as brainwaves. We use quantitative EEG (q-EEG), also referred to as brain mapping, and an electrocardiogram (EKG) which maps the electrical activity of the heart, to further understand an individual's brain activity.

An EEG reflects the current metabolic and attention state of the brain, changing according to consciousness, alertness, and neurological state. Obtaining an EEG recording is painless and non-invasive, and takes about 20 minutes.

We are seeing a trend in EEG’s in patients with addiction and alcoholism.

During residential treatment, patients learn recovery skills, interpersonal skills and mental health management skills to manage mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, mood disorders, and others. The length of stay is determined individually by our clinical team with the patient.

Residential patients attend 30 hours of programming per week. The topics covered include the biology of addiction, interpersonal skills, relapse prevention skills, communication skills, anger management, grief/loss, codependency, movement, yoga and recovery skills. The residential program is centered on evidenced-based practices, recent neuroscience discoveries and the mind-body connection.

The patient will work with an individual counselor to resolve any presenting mental health issues, trauma issues and/or any adverse childhood experiences. Mental health issues, trauma, and adverse childhood experiences are risk factors that may be contributing to the addiction. In addition to clinical participation, patients will also learn about the 12-step program and attend 12-step meetings on-campus and off-campus.
