On the foundation of faith, wisdom, and trust in Providence, Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU), known locally as the Lake, prepares graduates to transform their communities, families, and professions.

The university offers more than 70 undergraduate majors and minors, more than 15 master's programs, and four doctoral programs through its College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business and Leadership, College of Professional Studies, the Worden School of Social Service, and the Woolfolk School of Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Part of OLLU's mission is to provide education to those with limited access.

OLLU offers classes in daytime, evening, weekend, and online formats.

Our Catholic faith and trust in Providence are expressed throughout our academic programs and student activities, but they are highlighted in a number of key areas. Through our General Education curriculum, all undergraduate students take a religious studies course, a philosophy course and a service-learning course mentored by faculty.

Service is ingrained in the OLLU culture with students, staff, and faculty actively participating in service projects regularly.

Teletherapy: also called telepsychology, telehealth or telemedicine—involves speaking with a licensed mental health professional remotely. Right now, most teletherapy is done via video chat. At the CCS we use video chat as well audio chat. Most cell phones will enable you to connect with us with video or audio only.

Individual Counseling: The CCS staff welcomes individuals who want to improve their quality of life. We help you narrow your goal to be achievable and tackle an issue where you feel stuck and need additional ideas to move forward. Our goal is to help you recognized some of your existing strengths that you may be overlooking. Some people hesitate to come to therapy because their community may see seeking help as having stigma. The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) finds mental health issues are common in the US particularly now during the pandemic. NIMH identified that a one in five adults may be affected and would benefit from individual therapy.

Couples Counseling: The CCS staff welcomes couples who are dealing with challenges in their relationships. We are happy to work with all types of couples and are LGBTQ+ friends and allies. We provide couples counseling in both English and Spanish.

Family Therapy: The CCS staff welcomes individuals and families from all walks of life who are dealing with personal and family struggles, intimacy issues, and parental concerns. Our goal is to facilitate creative solutions that can result in personal growth and well-being, healthier relationships, good parenting skills, and better communication with those whom you value.

Psychological Testing: We offer strengths-based assessment services for children, adolescents and adults. Assessment services provide an evaluation of intellectual, learning, emotional and/or behavioral functioning to streamline treatment planning. Evaluation reports highlight clients' relative strengths, abilities, and interests as well as identifying areas that may require attention, training, and/or educational support to assist in preparation for school and work success.

One-at-a-Time Counseling: Many people find that a single session of counseling helps to get them started in a new direction. The focus of the single session is on your greatest worry, challenge or difficulty, and what you want to achieve from the meeting. Our aim is for you to leave the session with some ideas or strategies to try out. At CCS, you can schedule a One-at-a-Time session or you can be seen in an unscheduled session at certain times of the week. These sessions can be in person, telephone or virtual. They are available for individuals, couples and families. Some find that their one session is enough for now. Some decide to access a future scheduled or unscheduled One-at-a-Time session. Additional service options can be discussed with your therapist at the time of the session.
