Many youth have never traveled out of their innner-city neighborhoods or had immersive experiences in nature. Texas Hill Country Camps offers youth that display positive progress and behavior in other programs the opportunity to attend overnight camp in the Texas Hill Country.
Texas Hill Country Camps is a program of Good Sam's Youth Development Services (YDS), whose goal is to help young people acquire the life and academic skills necessary for personal success.
YDS exposes youth to new experiences, provides safe spaces to learn, and helps develop a sense of purpose by providing structured, age-appropriate services through five pillars:
