Individuals who are on Medicaid and have disabilities and/or are elderly – they will have a medical need and have functional limitations. If an individual is a Star Plus client with a Medicaid HMO, they will qualify automatically. Additionally, private pay clients are accepted as well. All clients must be under the care of a Primary Care Physician who must provide directives for our Nursing Care staff by way of a Physician’s Order.

This service can be paid for by a variety of sources, as listed below. Each payment source has its own unique requirements.

Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS): Client must be on the HCS waiver program, or be on or qualify for the state funded Title XX waiver program. Title XX clients have an income level that exceeds Medicaid income qualification with a resource limit of up to to $6000 and they must have a medical need to qualify for the DAHS program.

Star Plus HMO’s: Clients who qualify for Title XIX-Medicaid, who are 21 and older, and are not enrolled in any Family Care waiver programs, are enrolled in one of the three HMO’s who now provide care for Medicaid clients in and around the Bexar County area. Any client who is enrolled in an HMO qualifies for our service.

Veteran’s Administration: clients who qualify will be active at the Audie Murphy Veterans Administration Hospital, and will qualify within their system, but receive services at our facility. Please contact the VA Adult Day Care Office at 210-616-8480.
