Also, work with community resources to assist our participants with any medical needs they may have.

Every potential participant undergoes a comprehensive intake interview to ensure the ARC program is the best possible match for them. If the interview process determines it’s not, we’ll make every effort to refer them to a program that will be.

A long-term commitment of at least six months is required so patterns of poor decision-making can be broken and replaced with positive life choices – changes that will help them become productive citizens of their community.

People experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis can often benefit from a detoxification program and stabilization unit rather than a busy emergency room. Josephine Recovery Center—a 16-bed therapeutic facility open 24/7—offers a safe, effective alternative for Bexar County adults recovering from a behavioral health crisis.

Josephine Recovery Center (JRC) provides a safe environment staffed at all times by psychiatric nurses, skilled crisis therapists, and counselors. If participants are willing to engage in activities and treatment geared toward recovery, JRC can provide an effective alternative to emergency room care.

Supportive Outpatient Programs (SOP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between supportive outpatient treatment (SOP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility.

Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Crosspoint operates an outpatient clinic licensed for addictions treatment and staffed with licensed mental health professionals, as well. The clinic is located adjacent in the Austin-Cullum Outpatient Center in the east wing of The Summit.

The Austin-Cullum Outpatient Center provides trauma-informed mental health and addictions services to Veterans, their families and care-givers through a Texas HHS-funded grant. The Veterans and Family program also serves active duty military and the grant includes services for Veterans with less than honorable discharges as well as those who only wore the uniform for a short time. This outpatient center also provides free counseling services to residents of District 2 who can benefit from supportive brief intervention counseling. Crosspoint also contracts with a psychiatrist who provides services to referrals from the U.S. Probation Office.

Please call 210-549-4730 or 210-913-2216 to make a referral over the phone. This call can be made by the client, the CPS officer, a treatment counselor, or even a family member.

The Behavioral Health Diversion Program provides 24/7 residential support with embedded outpatient treatment services for men with co-occurring disorders in need of post-crisis stabilization or early justice system intervention (diversion).

Crosspoint’s program serves adults with mental health disorders, substance abuse disorders or co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders. All participants reside at Crosspoint for a period ranging from 60 to 120 days (up to 210 persons served per year).

Mental health services are rendered on-site by Crosspoint licensed clinicians and a part-time contractual psychiatrist. For those residents needing services elsewhere in the community and/or as part of the discharge process, Crosspoint staff facilitates referrals to external providers. When a partner delivers behavioral health care, Case Managers regularly communicate with treatment staff to solve problems, ensure retention in treatment, reduce challenges to completion and eliminate service duplication.

In Crosspoint’s experience, most members of the target population will be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless; therefore our Case Managers help participants secure stable housing that supports a pro-social lifestyle prior to program release.

Men only

Must have a mental health disorder, substance abuse disorder, or co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders.

Clients in need of step-down services can be referred by hospital social workers associated with the Southwest Texas Crisis Collaborative. Those individuals who are criminal justice system involved due to behavioral health issues can be referred by Central Magistration (pretrial) or Specialty Courts.

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Eating Recovery Center empowers patients to take ownership of their recovery and become active participants in their lives. Our Intensive Outpatient program is a flexible eating disorder treatment program that allows patients to work, go to school, or care for children during the day and sleep at home at night.

In IOP, patients are in treatment up to three days per week for up to 9 hours per week. Programming includes nutritional counseling, individual therapy, family therapy, supported meals and more.

Experienced professionals employ a number of therapeutic interventions in IOP, including:

  • Family-Centered Treatment
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment (CBT)

The program also incorporates core recovery principles, values, mindfulness, and connectedness.

The IOP can serve as a step-down level of care, helping to foster a positive transition into activities of daily living for adults upon discharging from our Residential or Partial Hospitalization programs. IOP can also be leveraged as a direct-admit level of care for adult patients requiring a higher level of care from an outpatient setting - allowing them to remain engaged with their lives.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers some of the same intensity and structure of Residential eating disorder treatment while providing additional opportunities to practice recovery outside of the controlled eating disorder treatment environment during evenings at home or in peer-supported apartment communities.

Unlike many Partial Hospitalization Programs that only offer 6 hours of eating disorder treatment, 5 days per week, our Partial Hospitalization Program offers patients a full day of treatment, 7 days per week.

By offering a full day of adult eating disorder treatment programming every day of the week, patients are supported through all meals and snacks with ample structure and containment to achieve symptom interruption and/or weight restoration.

Programming in our Partial Hospitalization program emphasizes the development of lifelong recovery skills in a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
