Lifetime Recovery's residential center is situated on a serene and private 18.5-acre campus in rural southeast Bexar County. This provides the perfect place for those suffering from drug and alcohol abuse to receive treatment for their addictions and maintain long-term sustained sobriety.

This campus is the largest gender-specific residential care facility for men in South Texas. The goal is the restoration of the family by forming better fathers, better sons, better brothers—better men.

Each person who seeks treatment at Lifetime Recovery receives a thorough individual screening and assessment by a licensed clinician to determine the exact nature and the most appropriate level of care.

This process also looks into issues other than chemical dependency, such as physical, social, and psychological needs.

These processes help the counselors tailor treatment plans to meet each client’s individual needs.

Men only.

At this point in treatment, our guests have reached homeostasis. They have returned to a sense of balance within themselves and are beginning to re-enter the world. They have reintegrated into work or volunteerism, and are enjoying their newfound recovery.

The first step on your journey to recovery is withdrawal. During this process, as drugs and alcohol leave your body, you might experience painful or uncomfortable physical symptoms. It’s crucial to go through withdrawal under the supervision of a medical team. Some individuals try to quit drinking or using drugs all at once, which can be dangerous. Withdrawal from alcohol, heroin, and benzodiazepines such as Xanax or Valium can lead to severe and life-threatening symptoms if not done carefully.

Throughout an addiction, the brain and body become used to the presence of the addictive chemical. Over time, the user’s tolerance increases, which drives them to use more of the substance more often to reach the same high.

Physical dependence, however, is a two-sided coin. Just as it fuels the addiction, it also hurts the user when they stop using their substance of choice. When the addictive chemical is no longer present, the body exhibits multiple withdrawal symptoms. This is especially true for those who have used the drug for a long time or in particularly heavy doses. For these users, detox is a life-saver; withdrawal symptoms for these users can cause death if the user is not supervised.

In our Texas detox center program, we offer round-the-clock support and medical interventions as necessary.

Located in San Antonio, our detox center is in the heart of Texas, making it a great location for residents from all over the state to seek treatment for substance abuse disorders. We commonly treat patients from other cities who are seeking a change of scenery while undergoing the recovery process.

We invite you to reach out to our team today. Taking the first step of admitting that you need help takes courage. When you call our team, we’ll discuss the next steps in overcoming addiction and rebuilding your life. Call us at 866-957-7885 or contact us online to learn more.

Addiction to drugs or alcohol is a chronic disease. And like any disease, it requires treatment. At San Antonio Recovery Center, we offer a variety of addiction treatment programs to help those in our community and beyond heal from the effects of addiction and begin to take back their lives.

One of the treatment options in our recovery center is an intensive outpatient program (IOP). An intensive outpatient program can be an effective option for those who can’t take time away from responsibilities at work or home.

Additionally, this level of care is often the best choice for those who have been through residential treatment and are looking for an outpatient program to help them transition back into everyday life.

At San Antonio Recovery Center, we offer personalized treatment and a supportive and welcoming setting. If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction, reach out to our team today. We can tell you more about our intensive outpatient program, verify your insurance, and help you access the care you need. Connect with a member of our team at 866-957-7885 or reach out online to learn more.

What to Expect in Our Intensive Outpatient Program:

Typically, patients who are participating in our intensive outpatient program will come to our center for sessions several times a week for two to four hours at a time. They might live at home while in treatment, or they might live in a sober living residence. Sober living is ideal for patients whose living environments are not stable or supportive of recovery. In sober living, residents pledge to maintain sobriety and work on their recovery while living in a structured environment.

Patients receive care and therapies that are best suited to their individual needs as part of a personal treatment plan based on the 12-step philosophy. This approach involves an accurate diagnosis, advanced modalities of treatment, and a supportive, therapeutic environment.

Relapse prevention is the biggest focus of intensive outpatient program treatment, just as it is for inpatient residential programs. We help our patients avoid relapse by creating personalized plans to address the triggers that could lead to drug and alcohol use.

For those who are battling serious addictions to heroin or alcohol, Texas residential drug and alcohol treatment is often the best option for recovery. This form of treatment immerses patients fully in recovery, providing time and space from the daily pressures of home to properly heal, develop self-confidence, and re-learn important life skills.

Residential drug and alcohol addiction rehab patients also have the benefit of being fully supervised within a safe environment of trust and understanding. Our medical team and other experienced staff members ensure that each patient receives the care they need. During the most vulnerable times of recovery, such as immediately following medical detoxification, this kind of environment can be the best place for our clients to start on the road to a successful recovery.

At San Antonio Recovery Center, we offer high-quality residential treatment in our state-of-the-art rehab facility in Texas. Contact us at 866-957-7885 to learn more today.

Elements typically incorporated into daily life in our Texas residential drug and alcohol treatment program include:

  • Individual Counseling – Work through the underlying causes of addiction through one-on-one sessions
  • Group Therapy – Gain perspective and build a network of support in sessions with your peers
  • Spiritual counseling – Addiction affects both the body and the mind, and spiritual counseling can help you heal
  • Dual Diagnosis – Treatment for co-occurring disorders, such as depression, trauma or anxiety
  • 12 Step Program – Find accountability and support in structured meetings
  • Education Program – Learn how addiction affects both individuals and the community
  • Family Therapy – Rebuild family connections through sessions with a therapist

The Division of Community, Recovery, Research and Training conducts research into the genetic and biological underpinnings of psychotic disorders.  Neuroimaging studies are carried out that examine the way in which the brain works and the areas of the brain activated by different symptoms or cognitive tests. This research may help us to understand how these illnesses develop and to identify more effective treatment strategies.

In addition, we study and develop new and innovative pharmacological and psychosocial treatments to improve symptoms and enhance the quality of life for individuals with these disorders. Treating the positive symptoms of schizophrenia (including hallucinations, false beliefs, and suspiciousness) addresses only one group of symptoms for individuals with schizophrenia.  New treatments aimed at bypassing problems with information processing and memory and reducing negative symptoms (problems with motivation and social withdrawal) are being developed and studied by researchers in the Division of Community Recovery, Research and Trainings. Developing interventions for the many issues faced by individuals with these disorders is important in improving outcomes.  Division researchers study how best to implement evidence-based practices in the pharmacological treatment of schizophrenia and related disorders.

Individuals who are dealing with substance abuse issues and who are ages 18-65. Currently, there are clinical trials being ran for those who actively use crack cocain and marijuana, and have interest in stopping.

No fees, as participation in the clinical trials is completely voluntary.

Suboxone is a medication containing buprenorphine and naloxone combined in a single tablet. Buprenorphine-which has been used successfully to treat heroin addiction by acting on the brain’s opiate receptors to relieve withdrawal and cravings without prompting the same intense high or dangerous side effects as other opioids. When combined with naloxone, buprenorphine’s abuse potential is limited because people who inject it experience severe withdrawal symptoms. However, when Suboxone is taken orally, as prescribed, these adverse effects do not occur. Our Suboxone doctors in San Antonio will determine the best course of treatment for you and offer options if you are pregnant.

During this appointment, your provider will focus on you while reviewing and discussing your intake information to assist in formulating a diagnosis and facilitating a successful treatment plan. The provider will work collaboratively with you to come up with recommendations on a successful treatment plan for optimal health.

When the treatment plan includes the use of prescription medication/over-the-counter (OTC)/ or supplement medication, your provider will discuss with you the nature of your disorder, the reason for the medication, and any possible alternative treatments such as advanced treatments.

As part of your treatment plan with medication management, you may be requested to complete certain laboratory testing(s). Depending on the form of treatment indicated or controlled medications prescribed, you will be required by the clinic policy to complete random procedures such as Genetic testing, Electroencephalogram (EEG), Electrocardiogram (EKG), Urine Toxicology Screening (typically random and based on provider discretion). You will be required to schedule and maintain a monthly appointment for controlled medication review and follow-ups. Clinician as a standard practice.

Initial psychiatric medication management ranges from 45-60 minutes and follow-up visits range from 20-30 minutes. This is a group practice, and your sessions may be conducted by any of our providers with a specific review of your treatment plan for consistency of care.

Genetic testing may be considered to assist in identifying the medications that may offer you the best chances of recovery. It helps reduce the risk of polypharmacy.
