The Society of St. Vincent de Paul offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or often through direct dollar or in-kind service. An essential precept of the Society's work is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served. The Society recognizes that it must assume, also, a role of advocacy for those who are defenseless or voiceless.

Here’s how Safe Place works:
Step One – A young person enters a Safe Place and asks for help.
Step Two – The site employee finds a comfortable place for the youth to wait while they call the licensed Safe Place agency. For the greater San Antonio area that is Roy Maas Youth Alternatives (RMYA).
Step Three – An RMYA staff member will talk with the youth to get more information and explain that an SAPD officer can escort them to the RMYA Bridge Emergency shelter. If the child is agreeable, the RMYA staff will contact SAPD to transport the youth to the shelter.
Step Four – Once at the Bridge, direct-care staff and counselors meet with the youth and provide support. Agency staff ensures the youth and their families receive the help and professional services they need.
This program is for youth under the age of 18 in need of immediate help and safety.
Safe Place® is a program of National Safe Place Network (NSPN).

Togs For Tots provides new clothing, personal care kit, jacket, reading book along with a Watch Me Grow booklet for parents of new babies and preschool children. School uniforms are provided to Head Start programs. This program is carried out in collaboration with local social service agencies and several schools whose staff determine which at-risk children will be the recipients.
Each child receives:
- two complete outfits
- a personal grooming kit
- an age-appropriate book
- a “Watch Me Grow” book
- six pairs of socks
- for ages three and above, underwear and a jacket
- for infants, newborn through three months, a baby gown lovingly sewn by member volunteers
Children determined to be "at-risk".
No charge.
Each Child Receives:
- three pairs of jeans, pants or leggings
- a jacket
- a belt
- three shirts
- six pairs of underwear
- six pairs of socks
- a personal care kit containing personal items
- a school box with basic supplies
- a pair of shoes
- two books of their choice
Children K-5 enrolled in a San Antonio Title I school.

We offer quality merchandise, including a selection of antiques and collectibles, men’s, women’s, books for every age, housewares, linens, home decor, seasonal items, and jewelry, all at affordable prices. We also carry other items as they are donated, such as tools and sporting goods.
The thrift shop is the main source of funding for our eight philanthropic programs. It is staffed and managed entirely by our member volunteers.
Donations are accepted during Thrift House hours.

The RMYA Thrift Shop provides clothing and other essentials to the children in our care and sells discounted merchandise to the community.
All proceeds from the sales at the RMYA Thrift Shop provide funding for emergency shelters and long-term residential programs for children in crisis; a drop-in center for homeless, runaway, and trafficked youth; a community family counseling and resource center; and a transitional living program for former foster care, homeless youth, and youth in extended foster care.
All donations are tax-deductible.

We offer the following services:
- Kym's Kupboard: providing food for families in crisis. The pantry is available to seniors once a week and families twice a month. We also offer snack bags to children on seasonal breaks from school.
- Lillie's Legacy: clothing and accessories are available for the whole family. Services are available once a month to families.
- Jovonies' Hugs: clothing, diapers, wipes, formula, and baby furnishings for infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children. Parents can receive supplies twice a month and diapers once a month.
- Empowerment Services: support, counseling, and resources to women and children who have experienced trauma through domestic violence, abuse, and bullying. Self-defense classes are offered through Ohana Academy. Providing advocacy to special needs children and adults.
- Senior Services: Delivered supplies to selected senior living facilities monthly. Providing resources and supplies to seniors weekly at the center.

The Harlandale Sunshine Pantry is a mutual-aid, self-service community pantry. We are a take what you need, leave what you can free little pantry.

Bethany Closet is the community outreach arm of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. Through our partnerships with our Evangelism Ministry, private donors and community organizations, we assist members of our local neighborhood, city and state.
This ministry provides uniforms and school supplies for Elementary Schools in the Edgewood School District. We also provide assistance with Food, Clothing and Household Items for families in need.
We are a Faith Base partner with the Child Protective Services and regularly provide necessities for children and families in transition.

A New Life For A New Generation is a non-profit designed to help parents and guardians with material assistance such as diapers and wipes.
Parents who are pregnant or have children 36 months and younger are encouraged to make an appointment or stop by to see how our programs may be able to assist you.
In addition to serving our targeted population, our programs have grown to be able to support other needs in the community including elderly clients in need of adult diapers, college students, and clients in an active job search.
A New Life For A New Generation offers counseling for parents and their children, assistance with job search, education on local resources, parenting classes as well as car seat training. To assist in uniting our community, we also host socials.

Outreach Ministry is out parish’s food bank. The Outreach Ministry’s mission is to help persons in need by providing food, clothing, and sometimes financial assistance in emergency situations. The society collects food at the back of the church and at the rectory.
