We offer a variety of computer-based psychiatric testing in our office to ensure the best standard of care when diagnosing our patients. Conner’s Computer Performance testing (CPT3) is used to aid in the diagnoses of patients with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The test can be given starting at the age of 4 and up. The test is used to assess the patients’ attention-related problems based on performance in four areas: attentiveness, impulsivity, sustained attention, and vigilance. If you are struggling with a lack of focus, this test may be right for you.

Personality assessment inventory (PAI testing) is used to aid in clinical diagnoses of a broad range of mental disorders including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenic disorders, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, sleep disorders, and substance abuse disorders. If you believe you are suffering from one of these disorders, this test may be right for you.

CNS testing is a neurocognitive test that can be used to efficiently and objectively assess a broad spectrum of brain function performance. This testing can be used to aid in the diagnoses of neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders and establish a neurocognitive baseline for patients to guide us in later treatment decisions. If you are struggling with memory decline, this test may be right for you.

  • Learning Disabilities

A competent, comprehensive evaluation of cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses is an essential component for enhancing academic success at any age. Our psychologists and neuropsychologists evaluate individuals from preschool through college and beyond.

Click here for more information on LD Testing.

  • Neuropsychological Evaluation

Neuropsychological testing is the only evaluation approach that looks at the ability to learn new information. It also allows us to evaluate the functional integrity of the brain in individuals with neurological conditions. Neuropsychologists play an increasingly important role in evaluating normal and disordered learning in children, adolescents, and adults. Evaluating the memory and other cognitive changes reported by many following COVID-19 exposure, including those with "long COVID" is also the job of the neuropsychologist.

Click here for more information on neuropsychological evaluations.

  • Psychological Evaluation

A psychological evaluation can address many different types of emotional and behavioral issues. Emotional health is important to our quality of life and to the quality of life for those around us.  Our doctors provide evaluation for ADHD, anxiety, autism, bipolar disorder, depression, OCD, other mood disorders, and nearly every other diagnostic category that is important to investigate.

Our experience enables us to offer effective outpatient, individualized, psychological care. We treat many mental health disorders and provide a neutral ground to individuals, families, and couples.

Our focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan.

Depression and Anxiety: Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we can help you recover the motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.

Trauma and PTSD: Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances (combat, sexual assault, abuse). Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing

Relationships: Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples and families who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with both couples and families to discuss issues and solutions.

Child and Adolescent: Childhood and adolescence are a struggle for many. Often circumstances or the same depression, fear, and anxiety impact adults and also prove to be problematic for children. Through counseling and treatment children and adolescents grow and develop.

Parenting: Therapy can include effective approaches to the challenges of parenting. The goal is to foster appropriate growth and development in the child from a positive perspective.

Developmental Delays: Developmental delays impact individuals and families. Our goal is to encourage adult living skills, improve social interaction, foster independence, and involve positive family interaction.

Reaching Maximum Independence takes pride in providing one of San Antonio's finest Job Placement Programs for people with disabilities. Through a network with the Texas Workforce Vocational Rehabilitation Services (TWS-VRS), local employers, as well as trained and experienced staff, participants receive an array of services designed to enhance employment. Our motto is Find, Get, and Keep employment.

Find
An individual job coach works one-on-one with each participant to determine interests that aid in finding the most suitable type of work. Often employers are contacted to help "carve" out various tasks that could be done on a part-time basis.

Get
Once a job has been found, RMI, often in conjunction with the TWS-VRS, provides a one-on-one "Job Coach." A job coach is the person that facilitates the training process with the participants and the employer. Very few individuals are unable to learn the tasks required by employers.

Keep
Ongoing Support allows specific goals and objectives to be addressed regarding the individuals employment, address concerns, and be a second set of "eyes and ears" to verify success. In order to keep a job, RMI provides Ongoing Employer Support. This involves continual communication with the employer to ensure the participant maintains expectations of success. If problems arise, such as "new tasks" or "changes," RMI staff is prepared to reinitiate the training process.

This program is for adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities (IDD).

Provided in the recognition that change and growth continue through the life cycle, and with the awareness that the older person may have particular needs. Counseling can be provided for the older person experiencing difficulty or for family members and caregivers concerned about the well being of an older person.

At The Ecumenical Center, we view healing as the integration of mind, body and spirit. That’s why we want every aspect of care provided to be clinically competent, and – where desired – theologically informed and spiritually sensitive. Nowhere is this more apparent than in our counseling services.

Our counseling staff and qualifications:

All of us working in this field are state-licensed counselors, graduate and doctorate level therapists, psychologists, registered play therapists, LPCs, LPSWs and LPC-S working under supervision. In addition, all those who deal with faith-based counseling clients are certified by the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.

We are committed to providing the best service possible for as many people as possible. In keeping with our mission, fee adjustments are available based on personal financial need and available funding.
