A proven leader in providing healthy meals to older adults, Meals on Wheels San Antonio was awarded a major contract by the city’s Department of Human Services to serve approximately 700,000 meals a year and up to 2,700 meals daily to adults 60 years and older in San Antonio’s neighborhood senior centers starting in January.

Here’s how Safe Place works:

Step One – A young person enters a Safe Place and asks for help.

Step Two – The site employee finds a comfortable place for the youth to wait while they call the licensed Safe Place agency. For the greater San Antonio area that is Roy Maas Youth Alternatives (RMYA).

Step Three – An RMYA staff member will talk with the youth to get more information and explain that an SAPD officer can escort them to the RMYA Bridge Emergency shelter.  If the child is agreeable, the RMYA staff will contact SAPD to transport the youth to the shelter. 

Step Four – Once at the Bridge, direct-care staff and counselors meet with the youth and provide support. Agency staff ensures the youth and their families receive the help and professional services they need.

This program is for youth under the age of 18 in need of immediate help and safety.

Enrollment Days occur every 2nd Tuesday of the month at our Transition Center.

Any current or former Foster Youth (16-23yrs old) who is interested joining our program is encouraged to attend.

On Enrollment Days youth will be able to walk-in and meet with a member of our team to answer any questions and complete registration.

We will be playing a movie and will have food to anyone who comes in from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM.

We hope that our Enrollment Days will allow time for youth get to know the ConnectED Team and what we have to offer!

Head Start provides quality preschool education services to children 3-4 years of age for working or school-enrolled parents in a licensed child development facility that meets Federal Income Poverty Guidelines and primarily resides in the Harlandale Independent School District.

Services are provided through a combination model of comprehensive education services to eligible children. Education services promote each child’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development to achieve school readiness measures and successful Head Start child outcomes. We deliver meals for lunch, breakfast, and the weekend. In fact, for many of our clients, the nutritious, lunch-time meal we provide is the only meal they eat a day. In order to better maintain the health of these individuals Meals on Wheels also provides packages of breakfast food items and/or specially made frozen meals to offer additional nutrition outside of the lunch-time hours.

Potential new clients are screened over the phone and put on meal service as quickly as possible.

Each week, Assistant Pastor Tony, his wife, and a team of soul winners go to Haven for Hope to talk and pray with people residing there, inviting them to receive Christ and join us for Sunday services and a home-cooked meal at the church. The pastor of our homeless ministry has a heart for people experiencing homelessness because he was once a homeless addict himself.
