Hopes Kitchen is a weekly ministry located in our Family Life Center.

Volunteers provide a hot, balanced meal at 12:00 pm every Saturday.

Hopes Kitchen serves those who may have some form of food insecurity or just wish to seek fellowship at mealtime. In addition to meals, we also provide other basic care products and clothing.

Donations are always appreciated -especially jackets and blankets for the winter season.

Head Start provides quality preschool education services to children 3-4 years of age for working or school-enrolled parents in a licensed child development facility that meets Federal Income Poverty Guidelines and primarily resides in the Harlandale Independent School District.

Services are provided through a combination model of comprehensive education services to eligible children. Education services promote each child’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development to achieve school readiness measures and successful Head Start child outcomes. Additional comprehensive family and community support services provided include health, mental health, parenting, nutrition, early intervention for at-risk or developmentally delayed children and case management system.

Campwood Elementary Child Development Center

Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver hot meals, Monday through Friday to seniors, the homebound, and disabled in Alpine, Marathon, and closely surrounding areas, such as Sunny Glen. Volunteers also provide a chilled sack breakfast and lunch every Friday for clients who need food over the weekend.

People interested in receiving meals may call 432-837-5402 or go to the Sunshine House between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. Christina, the client advocate, will help with the paperwork required for enrollment.

The Kids Pantry is stocked with family-friendly foods suitable for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Any FDISD middle and high school student may come to the library and get a free lunch from the Kids Pantry. 

There are no applications, no income requirements, and no personal information is collected. If you are a hungry kid you can stop by the library and get food. This is available to ALL Jeff Davis County children, age 0 through high school graduation.
