The faster Hopecam can connect kids and classmates, the faster we can mitigate depression and anxiety through social contact, support, and involvement in classroom activities. Hopecam connections also ensure a smoother transition back to school because of the ongoing contact with peers and educational content. In addition, the same technology that allows students easy access to their classroom works equally well for access to medical teams via telehealth.

Communities In Schools programs surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Our evidence-based approach, adapted to meet each community’s unique needs, is the basis for our success.

Basic Needs: A student cannot focus in the classroom if he or she is hungry, cold, tired, or cannot see the board. Site coordinators see that students' basic needs are met each day.

Enrichment: Our Site coordinators, enroll students in after-school and summer programs, field trips, and youth conferences to help them gain experience essential to meeting college and career goals.

Academic Assistance: Our site coordinators work hard to ensure that students have the resources to progress academically. From providing students with tutors to finding and creating quiet spaces where students can study, we do whatever it takes to create an optimal learning environment.

Life Skills: Through one-on-one workshops, team building, and guest speakers, we work with students to develop social-emotional learning, character education, social skills building, and conflict resolution.

Behavioral Interventions: Many of our students face and overcome difficult life obstacles. However, their survival skills aren’t always effective in the classroom or the workplace. Our program teaches students positive ways to cope with anger, conflict resolution, and other strategies to keep them focused on school.

Family Engagement: Site coordinators connect families with counselors and social workers to ensure the home is a healthy, nurturing environment where students can feel safe.

Our District is excited to announce the 2023-2024 Connected Classroom, an iPad (K 12) and Chromebook (3-12) lending program that enables students in K 12 grades to have a designated device for use both at school and at home. Through this initiative, we can ensure that our students have access to the tools they need to further their education and thrive in the digital age. iPads and Chromebooks are the ideal tools for students to complete assignments, research projects, and collaborate with peers because they are portable, durable, and simple to use.

Checking out a device for your student ensures that they will have access to technology and the vast resources it provides to enhance their learning throughout the school day as well as when they are at home.  These devices are governed by the NEISD Internet content filter when connected to any wireless network, which helps to protect students from inappropriate content while providing access to a range of instructional resources and apps that enhance learning.

Every campus has Internet Access in the parking lots available from 6:00 AM  to 11:00 PM if access is needed.

Welcome to the best little library in Texas!

Medina Community Library serves a 475-sq. mile area. Its mission is to provide access to the world of ideas and promote life-long learning.

The library also functions as a community hub—a place for the increasingly diverse population of western Bandera County to come together to share ideas, information, knowledge, and experience.

Priorities include:

  • encouraging literacy and promoting lifelong learning through its materials, programs, and services;
  • providing a bridge to the area’s past, through archived records relating to Medina's history;
  • helping Medina’s school-age children prepare to meet the challenges of the future;
  • offering programs and exhibitions highlighting area resources and other topics of local interest; and
  • providing meeting space for community groups.
