The One Journey is an experiential prayer and mentorship program led by the team at One. Through teaching, mentorship and guided prayer, you will experience connection with God, discover your identity and dive into living your calling. 

We will all gather together for a three day workshop to kick off the journey and then meet together weekly throughout the three month program. We will also conclude our journey together with another four day workshop. The ONE Journey is all about walking together and practicing making oneness a practical part of our daily lives.

Heart & Sole is Girls on the Run's middle school program that meets the unique needs of girls in 6th-8th grade. The program considers the whole girl - body, brain, heart, spirit and social connection - in a positive, structured space where girls can learn about themselves, explore new ideas, cultivate empathy and strengthen connections. Running is incorporated into each lesson to encourage physical wellness and teach life skills such as team building, creating a support system, standing up for themselves and others and decision making. The girls prepare for a celebratory Girls on the Run 5K event at the end of the program. This non-competitive event fosters goal setting and a sense of confidence through accomplishment to last a lifetime.

ImmSchools designs and implements effective professional development for educators and school staff that builds awareness, knowledge and skills to create safe and welcoming learning spaces undocumented students and their families. Training
Individuals coming in contact with survivors of torture find there is an enormous need for training, especially pro-bono professionals.

CST provides training on an ongoing basis, responding to clients and community needs as they arise.  In an effort to reduce the wait list, CST trains mainstream licensed providers whose clientele may include refugees and immigrants, thus helping them identify survivors, and improve their skills, and provide strength based, trauma-informed care.

CST provides education and workshops for refugee community leaders, attorneys, educators, physicians, and the immigrant community, on an ongoing basis.

Educational opportunities through CST’s social services

Many survivor of torture clients are underemployed. CST’s Adam Patrick Bratcher (APB) Education Program identifies cohorts of clients who want to pursue college or certificates. The program establishes a single point of entry through the highest-level community college contact.  

CST board members’ career-long, national experience in community college leadership eases access into community college programs that lead to jobs with the potential of earning a sustainable wage. This referral system to free college or certification programs, as a part of our APB Education Program, has a far-reaching impact on clients, helping them to build employable skills and earn a living, self-sufficiency, cultural competency, English skills, and generates hope for a better future for their family.

Building industry professionals and educators help high school students learn more about potential careers in architecture, engineering, and construction.

During the program, students work in teams under the mentorship of experienced professionals, who guide them through projects that meet real industry requirements. The result is an opportunity to gain practical insight into what building industry professionals do to transform their ideas from an initial concept into a finished building.

Students also visit professional firms, attend College Night at the University of Texas at San Antonio CACP, and attend lectures on industry topics.

At the conclusion of the program year, students present their design solutions and receive feedback from local industry leaders.

In addition, every qualified senior who goes on to university study in a building industry-related field is eligible for a local scholarship.

Texas ACE 21st Century, provided through Harlandale ISD, is a Texas Education Agency (TEA) grant-funded program that provides after-school academic support, college & workforce readiness, and family engagement opportunities for students who qualify (Kinder - 8th grade). Communities In Schools programs surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Our evidence-based approach, adapted to meet each community’s unique needs, is the basis for our success.

Basic Needs: A student cannot focus in the classroom if he or she is hungry, cold or tired, or cannot see the board. Site coordinators see to it that students' basic needs are met each day.

Enrichment: Our Site coordinators enroll students in a wide variety of after-school and summer programs, field trips and youth conferences to help them gain experience that is essential to meeting college and career goals.

Academic Assistance: Our site coordinators work hard to ensure that students have the resources to progress academically. From providing students with tutors to finding and creating quiet spaces where students can study, we do whatever it takes to create an optimal learning environment for our students.

Life Skills: Through one-on-one workshops, team building, and guest speakers, we work with students to develop social-emotional learning, character education, social skills building, and conflict resolution.

Behavioral Interventions: Many of our students face and overcome difficult obstacles in their lives. However, their survival skills aren’t always effective in the classroom or in the workplace. Our program teaches students positive ways to cope with anger, conflict resolution, and other strategies to keep them focused on school.

Family Engagement: Site coordinators connect families with counselors and social workers to make sure that home is a healthy, nurturing environment where a student can feel safe.
