AGORA Hope Pantry is our bi-monthly relationship ministry with a food distribution. Our goal is not just to feed, but to develop relationships with our families. Our Hope Pantry is where this begins. We share tacos, donuts, coffee and water with our families; we break bread together. Then we have a short bi-lingual service and a food distribution.

We provide food to our near community, which has the lowest per capita income of any zip code in San Antonio.

Our hope pantry is every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. Come join us in serving our community!

No registration requirement.

If you would like to volunteer, click here. Volunteers also have to fill out the Covid Waiver found here.

We ask volunteers to arrive at 8:30 AM on Wednesday.

Free.

AGORA Kids is the children’s ministry at AGORA. Two weeks out of the month we do an outreach event in one of our local housing projects: Alazan/ Apache Courts, Villa Veramendi, or the Cassiano Homes. We invite kids to join us for a fun program.

The other two Saturday’s of the month we do "Core Kids." This time is spent investing in a smaller group of kids, teaching character development, life skills and growing deeper in relationships with God and each other. Each event consists of hand movement songs, games, food, fun and most importantly a life relevant lesson that will help develop their character to become the best they can be!

Please call the number below for more information.

Free.

The need in our area is great. Our area has some of the highest levels of fatherlessness, poverty, abuse, and lowest education rates. The need for a relationship based youth ministry is necessary to our community.

We will see life change in our youth by developing a team of leaders that will pursue the youth in our community where the youth are. They will serve the youth both emotionally and spiritually. Our heart is through our relationship based ministry to lead them to a personal relationship with Christ.

Fellowship
Weekly Meeting/Small Groups – We focus on the youth and engage them, showing them God’s love. We do this by creating a safe place in our building and by the way we interact with each young person.

Relationship
Knowing who God is – We have worship, teachings, and practical lessons that help direct the students to a relationship with Jesus!

Discipleship
Mentoring the students – We walk through life with our students encouraging and showing them how their relationship with Jesus and their day to day lives can thrive.

We will see life change in our youth by developing a team of leaders that will pursue the youth in our community where the youth are. They will serve the youth both emotionally and spiritually. Our heart is through our relationship based ministry to lead them to a personal relationship with Christ.

Free.

Winston Harris joined the staff as the Creative Director in 2018 and later helped launch NorthRock’s first multi-site location in Alamo Heights as the Campus Pastor! Now in the Midtown area of San Antonio, Winston and his team are seeing people connect to God, grow in their faith, discover their design, and live in their purpose like never before!

WHAT WE BELIEVE
At NorthRock Church, we are rooted in eternal truths, the teachings of the Bible. We are guided by the following Biblical foundational beliefs and shaping values:

  •  GOD
  • THE BIBLE
  • JESUS CHRIST
  • SALVATION
  • BAPTISM
  • THE HOLY SPIRIT
  • THE CHURCH

Read more about our Theological Truths here.

4 Things We Do https://www.northrocksa.com/about-2/ -

  1. Connect to God - We exist to CONNECT people to Jesus and NorthRock: Our first purpose as a church is to help the spiritually disconnected, connect with Jesus.
  2. Grow Your Faith - We exist to GROW in our faith together: Discipleship growth is helping believers attain spiritual maturity.
  3. Discover Your Design - We exist to DISCOVER our design: Discover what God has created you to be and do. Design reveals destiny.
  4. Live Your Purpose - We exist to LIVE out our purpose: Step into your purpose for God’s Kingdom. This is what “life [re]defined” looks like. Investing in others above yourself.

At NorthRock Church in Midtown, we exist to see lives redefined. Every Sunday, we have church services where you can experience uplifting worship music, encouraging messages from our pastors, a special kids program, and opportunities for you to get connected —and it all starts here!

Pastor Henry Mooney is the Spiritual Leader of Believers In Christ Ministries & Believers And Community Development. He came to Christ after a long life of crime and unbelief.

Prayer is powerful and changes things! Every Friday night we meet at our community center to pray for our community and our city. Come join us in faith as we pray for God to move in our community and to change lives.

We love putting on special events, especially during the holidays. We have programs for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas such as turkey and ham distribution. Other special events for the community include sourcing backpacks and school supplies for kids and we also have community celebration dinners.

FEED MY SHEEP is the command that Jesus gave Peter in John 21:15-17 . We have this mandate on our lives as well.

  • Handing Out Food & Water
Come and join us every Tuesday, Thursday & Friday as we serve our community by helping us hand out food and water to those who are hungry and thirsty.
  • Meal Prep
All the wonderful meal packs we're able to give out have to be prepped! Help us prepare meals packs for our community every Tuesday, Thursday & Friday morning from 9am-10am, weekly.
  • Clothing Distribution
Clothing is so much more than just fashion or even something that simply acts as a covering... it also represents dignity.
  • Complete Support for the entire family. For more information on all our services, please click here.

Pastor Mooney enjoys telling the story of how he came to Christ and is willing to discuss the Word of God with anyone. Pastor Mooney was ordained as a minister in 1996, devotes his life to the Lord, and welcomes everyone to join the churches activities and services. He strongly believes that “It takes one to know one and show them the way.” Pastor Mooney is a living example that “God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you always have sufficiency in all things, and that you may have an abundance for every good thing” (2 COR 9:8 NKJV).

Our vision is to help the homeless, and those on drugs (crack cocaine, alcohol, downers, uppers, and heroin) and those in gangs. These individuals need a chance to have a job and money to help them start over again with a new life. We see them on our street corners all over the world. We need, as a people, to come together and help feed and clothe these individuals. We, as human beings are complete with body, mind, and spirit.

Volunteering, at its heart, is the principle of donating time and energy for the benefit of other people in our community as a social responsibility rather than for any financial reward.

Lives are changed and communities are strengthened when we come together and bring our resources to serve those in need. We can't do this without you.

To learn of the different programs and how to volunteer for each one, please click the Apply Now and select the program of interest.

Throughout its existence, Dignity has fought for "a time when Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Catholics are affirmed and experience dignity through the integration of their spirituality with their sexuality, and as beloved persons of God participate fully in all aspects of life within the Church and Society."

We believe that gay Catholics are members of Christ’s mystical body, numbered among the people of God. We have an inherent dignity because God created us, because Christ died for us, and the Holy Spirit sanctified us in Baptism making us a temple and the channel through which the love of God might become visible. Because of this, it is our right, our privilege, and our duty to live the sacramental life of the Church, so that we might become more powerful instruments of God’s love working among God’s people.
