While the IRS manages the VITA program, VITA sites are managed by IRS partners and staffed by their volunteers who want to make a difference in their communities.
Professor Sally Cook, CPA and TLU Professor of Business and Director of the Accounting program, provides students with hands-on experience in preparing income tax forms.
VITA services are not only free, they are also a reliable and trusted source for preparing tax returns. All VITA volunteers who prepare returns must take and pass tax law training that meets or exceeds IRS standards.
Assistance is provided on a first-come, first-served basis and there are no appointments available.
Taxpayers should bring all tax forms, a photo ID, and Social Security cards for everyone on the return, including dependents.
