Boerne Blessings provides a safe haven for children and youth in crisis, encourages healing, and advocates in hope for children throughout south central Texas.

Unfortunately, child neglect and abuse happens right here in Boerne. To ensure children's safety, Child Protective Services removes children both temporarily and permanently throughout south central Texas.

There is currently not an emergency shelter that accepts children of all ages in Kendall county. When children are removed from their homes, sometimes they are transported to Houston or Dallas, and sometimes they sleep on the floor in a CPS office.

Boerne Blessings goal is to fill this great need and provide a safe haven to children in crisis. We serve all foster children in need of temporary shelter while their CPS caseworker attempts reunification with family members or placement within a foster home.

One of the hallmarks of our program is that we have the ability to keep large groups of siblings together.

Located on a 10-acre campus in Bulverde, Texas, our Therapeutic Residential Foster Care program teaches our youth essential life skills through therapeutic relationship building.

These skills address social, emotional, and behavioral issues, and provide academic support and mentoring. We are proud to say that our 38-bed facility offers a very homelike feel and our youth can live with other children close to their age and stage.

Because of our unique setup, we are able to offer a home to children ages 5-21 years old, all of whom are in the managing conservatorship of the State of Texas.

Individual treatment plans, a homelike environment, and highly trained staff work together to help each child achieve their version of success. Many children come to us after multiple foster home placements - sometimes after as many as eight to twelve - and most arrive at least two years behind academically. Our dedicated staff works closely with the local school district to help them catch up with their peers.

Our Pregnant and Parenting Teen program, located on a 17-acre campus in New Braunfels, Texas prepares young moms for parenthood with a focus on education, life skills and positive parenting tools. We are preserving the family and strengthening the mother/child bond!

Residents of the program have initially been placed in SJRC’s care by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Most have been taken from their parents or caregivers because of some form of abuse, abandonment or neglect.

The Program provides "at-risk" mothers ages 10 to 20 years old the opportunity to receive training and guidance on parenting, job and life skills as well as social, academic and independent living skill development. Individualized therapy classes are also offered when you arrive pregnant, the mother and baby's health care needs are met throughout her pregnancy and beyond.

Our facilities offer mothers a calm and safe environment through the pregnancy stages and after the arrival of her new baby. In addition to a parenting curriculum, all of our moms attend the local public high school and receive individualized case management provided by trained and caring staff. Moms and their babies are able to stay until they are ready to transition to independent living or until they turn 21 years old. Working in the community and learning how to become a self-sufficient and productive parent and member of society are core skills these young women will learn as residents of the SJRC Texas Pregnant and Parenting Teen Program.

Transitional Housing is a residential program intended for families needing a safe haven to access our other services. Families in our residential program stay for an average of eighteen months while they work to heal and rebuild their lives.

Financial independence, while not our only goal for our residents, is essential to a self-sufficient family. Therefore, each of our families is working and saving or training for a future position that will allow them to earn a living wage.

We accept applications from mothers with custody of their minor children who are homeless or on the verge of becoming homeless and have a history of abuse.

Individuals interested in our transitional program can request more information here.

The campus at Meadowland includes six residential cabins (four for males/two for females), an educational/ recreational complex, a gymnasium and weight room, the Meadowland Charter School, a computer lab, a library, and the Burdick Community Center. Additionally, the campus has a jogging track, several ball fields, basketball courts, and a swimming pool and pool house.

Children placed at Meadowland frequently come from chaotic, unpredictable environments with inconsistent discipline, care, or supervision. Many have a history of abuse and, as a result, have behavioral and emotional problems, which, without intervention, could lead to criminal activities and other destructive behaviors.

The Meadowland Campus accepts male and female children, ages 6-17, who are neglected, abused, abandoned, involved with the juvenile justice system, in crisis, or otherwise in danger.

Some clinical considerations must be reviewed, along with the "fit" of the child into a particular resident group and the RMYA capacity to work with any special needs the child may have.

RMYA's policy does not discriminate in the manner in which it provides services or in the way in which it screens applicants. At no time will a referral be denied admission to the program based on sex, race, color, national origin, political belief, religion, sexual or gender orientation.

Family Promise of Greater New Braunfels is a community response to family homelessness. We exist to support, guide and lift families out of homelessness and into safe housing, gainful employment, and independence.

Representatives from local churches have came together to address the need. Family Promise of Greater New Braunfels (FPGNB) is a partnership of churches that open their doors, classrooms, gyms, and hearts to serve as hospitality centers to families experiencing homelessness, partnering with professional case management and other community resources to offer temporary housing, meals, transportation and loving support.

When a family successfully completes our comprehensive shelter program, they have accomplished a series of steps to continue their journey to long-term self-sufficiency. Accomplishments include:

  • Safe Housing
  • Permanent, full-time employment
  • Safe, reliable child care or after-school care
  • Emergency savings fund of $1000+
  • A working, realistic budget
  • Reliable transportation

Once a family "graduates" and moves into their own home, they transition into A New Lease on Life aftercare program, which includes:

  • Professional case management support for one year
  • Help with emergent needs
  • Life skills workshops (Child care is provided.)
  • Peer support of fellow FPGNB alumni, as well as other supportive relationships.

A protection order is an order used by a court to protect a person, business, company, establishment, or entity, and the general public, in a situation involving alleged domestic violence, assault, harassment, stalking, or sexual assault.

Intimate partner violence is about power and control. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

A protection order is an official legal document signed by a judge that orders the abuser to stop abusing or threatening you and/or your children. It can also include other types of relief such as child support, custody, visitation and payment of debts.

The abuser may be ordered to stay away from your home, school or place of employment. You have the right to file for a protection order if someone has abused you within the past six months (180 days) OR if they abuse or threaten to abuse any person under 18 years old now or in the future.

In addition, there are several reasons why it might not be safe for you to return home after obtaining an emergency protective order including but not limited to threats made against pets and property damage done at your residence during previous incidents of violence between yourself and the abuser.
