The Pathways Youth Program provides interactive, educational enrichment activities that emphasize art, music, and literacy in an environment of cooperative learning. The program is offered Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM to children over the age of 6. During this time Resident Coordinators assist youth with their homework. After homework is completed, youth participate in a structured educational activity. These activities reinforce math, science, reading, and creative thinking while incorporating art, music, and cooking.

In the summer, hours are extended and additional programs and field trips are added. Summer programming differs from year to year because, unlike traditional summer camp where children are grouped with youngsters of the same age, ACG children work together cooperatively in groups that frequently span many ages. This experience more closely replicates the experience these children have in their home environment where siblings and neighborhood friends come from many age groups.

This program is open to the public.

Communities In Schools programs surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Our evidence-based approach, adapted to meet each community’s unique needs, is the basis for our success.

Basic Needs: A student cannot focus in the classroom if he or she is hungry, cold or tired, or cannot see the board. Site coordinators see to it that students' basic needs are met each day.

Enrichment: Our Site coordinators enroll students in a wide variety of after-school and summer programs, field trips and youth conferences to help them gain experience that is essential to meeting college and career goals.

Academic Assistance: Our site coordinators work hard to ensure that students have the resources to progress academically. From providing students with tutors to finding and creating quiet spaces where students can study, we do whatever it takes to create an optimal learning environment for our students.

Life Skills: Through one-on-one workshops, team building, and guest speakers, we work with students to develop social-emotional learning, character education, social skills building, and conflict resolution.

Behavioral Interventions: Many of our students face and overcome difficult obstacles in their lives. However, their survival skills aren’t always effective in the classroom or in the workplace. Our program teaches students positive ways to cope with anger, conflict resolution, and other strategies to keep them focused on school.

Family Engagement: Site coordinators connect families with counselors and social workers to make sure that home is a healthy, nurturing environment where a student can feel safe.

This program is for students at Irene L Chavez Excel Academy.

Our Mission is to enrich, empower, and engage youth in a fun and safe environment.

One of the hardest parts about being a parent or caregiver is finding a safe place for your child that is...

  • affordable
  • within close proximity, and
  • that can help their child become the best person that they can be.

Of course, there are several other factors that play a role in choosing the right place, but it usually comes down to those three things.

Sometimes there aren't a lot of choices and are stuck with whatever is available. We hope to change all of that. While our organization is fairly new to the industry, our actual work experience with youth spans over twenty years.

With that knowledge, we aim to be adaptive in an environment that is ever changing. So, let's talk about what we are currently offering....

  • Homework Assistance (No Homework? Then they Read)
  • Tutoring is available, if needed
  • Traditional and Non-Traditional Arts/Crafts
  • An Immersive STEM Program (Interactive Science Activities, Environmental Science Projects, etc.)
  • Social Entrepreneurship, Small Business, and Stock Market Game
  • Life Skills Training
  • Prevention of Child Trafficking Program and Street Smarts Program

While our program is geared towards youth ages 6-17, we currently operate through IDEA Judson for Kinder through College Prep grade levels (K-High School).

We are open to discuss opening up locations in churches, schools, or other prospective areas depending on the number of youth projected to be served and available funding.

Please call or email us for more information.
