Communities In Schools programs surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Our evidence-based approach, adapted to meet each community’s unique needs, is the basis for our success.

Basic Needs: A student cannot focus in the classroom if he or she is hungry, cold or tired, or cannot see the board. Site coordinators see to it that students' basic needs are met each day.

Enrichment: Our Site coordinators enroll students in a wide variety of after-school and summer programs, field trips and youth conferences to help them gain experience that is essential to meeting college and career goals.

Academic Assistance: Our site coordinators work hard to ensure that students have the resources to progress academically. From providing students with tutors to finding and creating quiet spaces where students can study, we do whatever it takes to create an optimal learning environment for our students.

Life Skills: Through one-on-one workshops, team building, and guest speakers, we work with students to develop social-emotional learning, character education, social skills building, and conflict resolution.

Behavioral Interventions: Many of our students face and overcome difficult obstacles in their lives. However, their survival skills aren’t always effective in the classroom or in the workplace. Our program teaches students positive ways to cope with anger, conflict resolution, and other strategies to keep them focused on school.

Family Engagement: Site coordinators connect families with counselors and social workers to make sure that home is a healthy, nurturing environment where a student can feel safe.

This program offers young children an opportunity to interact with their peers so that they can begin to learn about sharing and caring for others. They learn about the world around them through play.

Our purpose is to provide a Christian environment that is safe and conducive to good health where children work and play together. Our aim is to offer opportunities for the children to grow intellectually, physically, socially, and spiritually. We hope to achieve these goals by encouraging an enthusiasm for learning through:

  • sharing a daily time of devotion through Bible stories and chapel experiences
  • giving each child an awareness of God's love for him/her
  • "hands on" exploring
  • activities which develop large and small muscle coordination and motor skill
  • participating in group experiences, sharing and playing together

Our Parents Day Out program is for infants; six (6) weeks through two (2) years of age.

We offer 2, 3, and 5-day classes. You may choose a Half Day; which is 8:45 am - noon, or a Full Day which is 8:45 am - 2:45 pm. Early Care begins at 7:30 am and Extended Care until 5:00 pm.

Both Early and Extended care are options.

The Preschool program offers children readiness opportunities to prepare them for kindergarten. We focus on language development, listening-skills, large and small motor development as well as number, color and alphabet recognition. The rooms offer several different learning centers and throughout the year they are exposed to numerous units of study which challenge their creative and academic development. In addition to classroom activities, the children go to Music class and Motor Movement class. We have a unique outdoor playground that offers a variety of play equipment.

The children begin each day in chapel. We sing songs, hear stories about Jesus and learn the importance of prayer in our lives. Our intention is to welcome young children to God's family during this short worship service.

Our program is a nurturing introduction to "school" for young children. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to serve your family in taking care of your child.

Ages: 3 - 5 years.

For 3 year old Preschool, you may choose from a 2 day(T/H), 3 day(M/W/F) or 5 day class.

In order to address the impacts of COVID-19 and to support Texas’ continued economic recovery, the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is implementing a Service Industry Recovery (SIR) child care program to help low-wage workers in TWC-specified service industries who generally operate in close quarters with their customers and whose jobs cannot be accomplished remotely.

Highlights of the SIR program:

  • 12 months of eligibility
  • $0 parent share of cost
  • Less required eligibility documentation

(While TWC is targeting aspects of the service sector with SIR child care, all families continue to have access to TWC’s regular low-income child care subsidy program.)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • At least one parent must be currently employed or entering employment in one of the following TWC-specified service industries:
  • One-parent households must be working a minimum of 25 hours per week and a two-parent household must be working a total of 50 hours per week to qualify.
  • The family income is at or below 75 percent of State Median Income (SMI). To see if you meet this requirement, click here and scroll down.

Country Home Learning Center offers a highly successful Excel program that incorporates a truly accelerated environment, degreed or CDA certified teachers and exceptionally small classes. The Country Home Excel Program is accredited by AdvancED and aligned with state standards for public school kindergarten. With only 14 students per class, our Country Home Excel Program is almost one-half the size of most public school Kindergarten classes! In addition to our extra-curricular activities listed below, our Excel students enjoy various educational and fun field trips. They are also introduced to reading and 1st-grade math during the second semester.

At Country Home, we offer a distinctly innovative environment for our children. We do not limit our program to one teaching venue or method, but rather provide a virtual banquet of educational choices. Our wonderful facility allows us to leave our classroom each day and explore various themed rooms (specialized areas). Each area encompasses unique opportunities and equipment for challenging “hands-on” learning and fun exploration into the world of science, math, computers, language development, dramatic and creative arts. Our Excel students spend fun-filled educational days on the move participating in activities that stimulate their creativity and spur their imagination!

Since our students have lots of planned activities, we know communication with our parents is important. Age-specific Monthly Highlights showcase selected weekly curriculum activities. School-wide monthly newsletters notify parents of special events and other important information. Country Home Report Cards (four times per year) and regularly-scheduled parent/teacher conferences focusing on our Excel Program’s Developmental Checklist help recognize and celebrate each child’s accomplishments. Our annual holiday Open House brings school and families together for a very special evening!

Our 5-Year-Old/Excel program includes the following areas:
• Language Arts
• Reading and Phonics
• Mathematics
• Computers
• Science and Geography
• Writing
• Social Studies
• Spanish
• Creative Arts
• Dramatic Activities
• Music and Creative Movement
• Physical Fitness and Gym
• Practical Life Skills
• Positive Self-Concept and Social Development Activities

Through all of our varied learning activities, we emphasize our most important objective: to provide our students with many opportunities to succeed every day. Frequent successes in young children promote self-confidence and a higher self-esteem, which are vital to the learning process as the child grows. Our goal is to help each child become an inquisitive, happy, successful and confident young student.

This program is for 5-year-olds.

Country Home After School students enjoy active, fun-filled days that provide a variety of choices including the Soda Shop (for an afternoon snack and cooking projects), the Arts and Crafts Center (for creative arts), the Theater Arts Center (for plays, musical instruction or a favorite movie), the Computer Lab (for play and education), the Giant Adventure Jungle Indoor Playground (for indoor physical play), and the outdoor playground and Waterpark (weather permitting).

Each area encompasses unique opportunities and equipment for challenging "hands-on" learning and fun exploration into the world of science, math, computers, language development, dramatic and creative arts. We do provide homework time each day to assist in the completion of your child’s school assignments. However, our After School program is not an extension of the typical school day but is designed to complement it by providing many enrichment opportunities unavailable to the students at the public schools. Our children spend fun-filled days on the move participating in activities that stimulate their creativity and spur their imagination!

We invite our After School students to attend Country Home on public school holidays. Field trips are planned on these days to exciting and educational local attractions, including horseback riding, visits to our petting zoo, and picnics at our privately owned "Adventure Quest" ranch in Boerne for our San Antonio locations!

After School transportation is provided to and from nearby public schools. Please inquire at the location nearest you for specifics.

Our wonderful teachers skillfully guide our school-age students through a variety of exciting destinations each day that include:

  • Country Home Waterpark and Wet Deck
  • Adventure Jungle Indoor Playground
  • Large Indoor Gym and Basketball Court (most locations)
  • Country Home Theater
  • 1950s-Style Soda Shop
  • Resource Room and Library
  • Age-Specific Outdoor Playgrounds
  • Putt-Putt Golf Course
  • Soccer Field (some locations)
  • Computer Lab
  • Arts and Crafts Lab

Through all of our many programs, we seek to provide an extraordinary educational environment for your child.

Our After School students will have many opportunities to grow intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. Above all, we want each child to have lots of happy, adventure-filled days surrounded by friends!

This program is for school-aged children through age 13.
