THRU Project (Nonprofit / Christian )

THRU Project's mission is to help foster youth overcome the challenges of growing up in the foster care system by providing guidance, support and advocacy in order to prepare them for life after foster care.

As youth age out of the foster care system, they are often alone with no adult to guide them through this critical time of transition. Many former foster youth end up pregnant, homeless or incarcerated.

We recruit and train adult volunteers to serve as Advisors and then match adults with youth for one-on-one mentorship. We offer the life skills training that many have never received; we help them get a job, apply for college, set up their first apartment and navigate their finances.

At Peace For The Heart Counseling we believe everyone can benefit from psychotherapy.

If you discover yourself struggling with the loss, stress, and setbacks of life, counseling can provide you the opportunity and space to examine and clarify your thoughts and emotions, and identify the best way forward.

If you have difficulty finding and maintaining healthy relationships, counseling can help you delve into past and current relationships, highlighting ways you may be unconsciously sabotaging familial, platonic and, especially, romantic relationships.

If you find life feels lackluster despite the outward appearance of success, therapy can help you look within, uncover your passions and rediscover meaning.

If you suffer from illness, whether mental or physical, psychotherapy can help you manage symptoms, while addressing the underlying stress and emotions that may be exacerbating your illness.

If you’re happy and healthy, but feel you have stalled and want to make a change, coaching, a variation of counseling, can help you establish goals and encourage you in your progress while still holding you accountable.

Effective therapy can guide you through a new process of discovery
Our therapy techniques can help you to release powerful, unconscious blocks and fears that may be holding you back.

Therapy sessions should empower you to ask questions, focus on specific issues, and support not only what is working, but uncover any obstacles that may keep you from achieving your goals.

More than just making you feel better, our goal is to help you understand yourself better. Consistent and ongoing discussions between you and your therapist ensures that you maintain the skills being learned and helps you effectively stay on the path toward personal growth and progress.

The Grace Tree Foundation (Business )

The Grace Tree Foundation is committed to investing our expertise and resources in order to further achieve our platform to help those recover from trauma symptoms in our community.

We measure our success not by monetary size but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts to help those in the under-served community of San Antonio and surrounding areas who normally would not be able to attend or afford our services. Just imagine what we can achieve together!

Our licensed and certified professionals (Viana Mora holds an international designation of C-IAYT under the International Association of Yoga Therapists) make up an organization like no other. Grace Tree was the first trauma-sensitive and somatic movement organization in the trenches of the community as servant leadership volunteers, this is what passion looks like in Bexar County.

In many cases, our volunteers have experienced trauma recovery first-hand and serve trauma survivors with open hearts and true empathy.

Our pro bono and sliding scale programs make trauma-specialized services affordable for anyone.
