The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District has opened a COVID-19 hotline and website for residents to ask questions about the virus. The hotline is available in English and Spanish.

The Texas Department of Health and Human Services, Texas Emergency Medical Task Force, Texas Division of Emergency Management and the Texas Military Department has also added more mobile COVID-19 test locations for residents at no cost. Vans equipped with high-speed networks will be dispatched to locations across the city, officials said Wednesday. The mobile hotspots have a range of 100 to 200 feet and will allow students to access the signal from a nearby parked car.

This program is in response to the COVID-19 school closure. The program was organized with cooperation between VIA Metropolitan Transit, the city of San Antonio, San Antonio Housing Authority, San Antonio ISD and Northside ISD.

Critical funds are available to help residents who are struggling to pay rent, utilities, internet, groceries, medicine, and fuel.

This program provides housing (rent or mortgage), utility, and internet assistance to qualifying individuals or families during the COVID-19 crisis. In addition, qualifying individuals or families will receive $150-$300 (based on household size) for food and other necessities through the Family Independence Initiative.

Please review the following eligibility and documentation requirements before beginning the application process.

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

• Be a current resident of the City of San Antonio;

• Be the primary lease or mortgage holder in a multifamily unit, mobile home, or single-family home within the city limits of San Antonio;

• May only apply for rent, mortgage, and utility assistance related to one primary property;

• Have a household income at or below 100% of the area median income (AMI) as defined by HUD; and

• Provide ID and proof of hardship. Acceptable forms of documentation are listed here.

During this challenging time, Bexar County and LiftFund have partnered to bring relief to small businesses that are being negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our support includes business loans at 0% interest and business grants.

in order to qualify, businesses must:
• Been operating as of August 19, 2019
• Demonstrate a decrease in revenue of 15-20%, at minimum
• Prepare a six-month recovery plan and working capital plan
• Be in good standing with creditors the past six months
• Have 10 or fewer employees and revenue not exceeding $1 million (loan program)
• Have 5 or fewer employees and revenue not exceeding $1 million (grant program)

Please note that there is limited funding for these special programs.

Until further notice, all testing sites managed by the City of San Antonio are only testing people who have symptoms.

If you do not have symptoms and want a test, you can still get tested at a private clinic. A full list of the private testing sites is available at: https://covid19.sanantonio.gov/What-YOU-Can-Do/Testing.

The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District (Metro Health) is unable to provide individual letters verifying that an individual was tested for COVID-19 and is awaiting results.

Appointments for Texas Military Department locations can be made at www.txcovidtest.org or by calling 512-883-2400.

Residents can also call 311 or the Metro Health hotline at 210-207-5779 to request more information about testing.

If you are tested at the Freeman Coliseum, Metro Health will NOT provide your results. The National Testing Center will call you up to three times to inform you of your results.

If you are tested at a private clinic or by your doctor, they will provide you with results.

Results are not available from the COVID Hotline or through the Testing Hotline.

COVID-19 testing is now available to the general public.
All individuals must register online.
The cost for testing should be covered by most insurance plans or through government-sponsored programs. If cost and transportation are not a barrier, we encourage you to find a testing provider near you listed in additional resources. If a person does not have insurance, they can receive a test for free through the City at Freeman Coliseum.
