If you are an essential worker, you may apply for COVID-19 Essential Worker Child Care. This will be short-term child care and is subject to the availability of funds. If you apply and your application is denied, you will not lose your spot on the regular CCS Waitlist.
Please do not submit an application if you:
• Are NOT an Essential Worker
• Are a two-parent family where one parent is NOT an Essential Worker
• Do NOT need Child Care to work in an Essential Occupation

Enrollment for the 2020-21 school year is now open at all of our locations.
Our Centers are taking extra precautions. Parents are asked to drop and pick up their children outside of our facility. The child’s temperature will be taken daily before entering the building.
Early Head Start Child Care Partnership is a new opportunity to support the partnering of Early Head Start Programs with Child Care Providers to expand the number of quality slots for infants and toddlers in San Antonio. Through partnership, Early Head Start grantees partner with center-based and family child care providers who agree to meet Early Head Start Program Performance Standards and Regulations and provide high-quality comprehensive, full-day, full-year services to infants and toddlers from low-income families.
The program provides early, continuous, intensive, and comprehensive child development and family support services that enhance the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of participating children. In addition, services provide young children ages birth to 36 months, with an array of comprehensive services including health, nutritional, behavioral, and family services.

Early Head Start provides comprehensive child and family development services for low-income families with infants and toddlers ages birth to three years. Early Head Start provides early, continuous, intensive and comprehensive child development and family support services on a year-round basis. The purpose of the program is to enhance children's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development for school readiness; to support parents' efforts to fulfill their parental roles; and to help parents move toward self-sufficiency. AVANCE-San Antonio offers a two-option program for children and their families consisting of Home-based Option and Center-based Option providing services at licensed Childhood Development Centers. At all times Early Head Start services at least 10% children with disabilities.
With a commitment to the whole family, Center for New Communities and its partnering organizations provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate care and guidance for infants, toddlers, expectant mothers, and other members of low-income households that lead to school readiness and strong families.

Students in grades K-12 are offered a safe location after school and during the summer months. Participants are provided transportation, a hot meal, homework assistance, tutoring, character education, an opportunity to learn about gardening, sustainability and nutrition, as well as outdoor recreation and positive interaction with peers and adults. This program is offered at no cost to families, which allows parents to work and/or continue their education with the peace of mind that their children are safe.
