The Society of St. Vincent de Paul offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or often through direct dollar or in-kind service. An essential precept of the Society's work is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served. The Society recognizes that it must assume, also, a role of advocacy for those who are defenseless or voiceless.

If you are a youth in foster care, aging out doesn't necessarily mean you are on your own.

We can:

• Introduce you to a dedicated adult Mentor that can provide a listening ear, guidance, encouragement, and a support system for you. Our mentors and youth are matched based on compatibility and location.

In addition, the Mentor Program will:

• Provide a bus pass to help with transportation
• Provide a cell phone and service to connect you to your Mentor and vital resources
• Connect you to other resources for housing, employment, and life skills
• Provide housing necessities such as kitchen and bath supplies

 Having one trusted adult to rely upon can make a significant impact in your life!

We are only servicing these areas at this time:

Bulverde, Boerne, New Braunfels, San Antonio, and Converse Texas.

Please note: THRU Project Mentor program requires a one-year commitment to:

• Meet with your Mentor at least once each month
• Reply to any Mentor communications

Failure to do so may result in elimination from the program.

We are accepting new clients to match with a mentor, but not currently accepting new mentors.

The Coker Food Pantry provides food for families in need. The San Antonio Food Bank has designated the Health and Wellness Center at Coker as a large food pantry. 

Approximately 350 families are served through the weekly food distribution. This impacts so many households and frees family resources for other needed expenses.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Valid ID (assists in the application process). 
• Completed application.
• First come, first served (please arrive early).
• Registration starts around 8 AM. 
• Distribution limit.
• Serves all San Antonio zip codes.

Free, based on income.

Established in 1985 the GRASP Thrift Store accepts new and gently used items for resale. All net proceeds from the store funds the charitable programs provided by GRASP for needy families in the Greater Randolph area. Donations to the GRASP Thrift Store are tax deductible in accordance with the IRS Code and may be arranged for pick-up by appointment.

Shopping at the GRASP Thrift Store not only saves you money, but provides needed funding for our Community Programs that help our neighbors.

We believe you must meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. All families and children receive much-needed physical resources and services from support programs that Mentors use to bring strength, hope, and encouragement.

Client Services: All families, children, and individuals' needs are assessed at registration and referrals are provided for local, state, and other outside resources. Clients are given immediate emergency food and other resources while waiting to be matched with a volunteer mentor. Ongoing tracking and support are given to clients through HCDBM and the outreach partner.

Grocery Box: Twice a month, canned food, bread, desserts, non-perishables, and produce are delivered to the homes of families and individuals in need, by family mentors from our Church Outreach Partners.

Resource: Clothing/Furniture and Household Items: families are provided with specific needs.

Hill Country Baby & Silver Crown: Babies, toddlers, elderly, and disabled individuals are provided with diapers, Depends, and wipes to alleviate health hazards caused by lack of resources.

Easter Baskets: Children receive beautiful baskets filled with goodies and learn about Jesus’ love for them.

Kingdoms Kids Book Club: Children receive throughout the year age-appropriate Bibles and books to help them have comfort and strength.

The Thanksgiving Box: A complete Thanksgiving dinner delivered to families by their Family Mentor volunteer.

Christmas Toys: Through sponsorships, parents are supplied with Christmas gifts to give to their children.

All services are free of charge.
