Starlite Recovery Center (Business )

Our program philosophy at Starlite Recovery Center is based on the understanding that the disease of addiction affects the entire person: encompassing the body, mind, and spirit. Because of this, treatment must address each of these areas to be successful in the recovery of the whole person.

We further believe that the disease of addiction touches more than just the individual who is abusing substances. We recognize that the lives of those around the alcoholic or addict are affected in many negative ways. Family, friends, loved ones, and employers need education, guidance, and support if treatment is to be successful.

Starlite's clinical staff will keep the family involved in the treatment process and decisions.

Starlite Recovery Center offers help for everyone whose lives are impacted by addiction and alcoholism. Primary treatment is merely the initial step in the overall recovery process. Our goal of promoting an abstinent lifestyle, one that is lasting and productive, is predicated upon intervention and education which demonstrate to the addicted individual the path of success and how others achieved it.

Drug Free Comfort (Nonprofit )

Drug Free Comfort seeks to eliminate dangerous and illegal drugs from our schools and community by raising awareness and knowledge and implementing drug prevention programs.

Through parent education, dynamic youth programs, and engagement with key stakeholders, Drug Free Comfort is dedicated to the promotion of healthy family relationships, emotional wellness, and the prevention of drug and alcohol abuse in our community.

Children’s Association for Maximum Potential (CAMP) began in 1979 when a group of US Air Force pediatricians, Dr. Chris Plauche Johnson, Dr. Fred McCurdy, and Dr. Robert de Lemos, along with other health professionals, brought 32 children with disabilities together for a weekend camp.

These campers were not accepted to other camps - even those for children with disabilities - due to the severity of their medical conditions or disabilities. CAMP was incorporated in 1980 and held camps at rented facilities during its first 10 years. In 1989 CAMP purchased an old church camp facility and began retrofitting and adapting it to meet the needs of its campers.

Texas Lions Camp (Community )

At Texas Lions Camp, we view camp as a time for campers to explore, exercise curiosity, and discover new interests and abilities. We want campers to attempt things that would normally be out of their reach, such as riding a horse, or rock climbing on our ropes course, or just being part of a team.

Almost every activity at TLC requires more than one person to accompish - the premise being that we are not meant to be alone in life and can accomplish great things when we work together.

Not only is participation in the context of a team an important life skill, but it is a pathway to the self-esteem, boosting multiplier of helping others accomplish their goals. Almost seven decades of experience has taught that children who invest in the success of others experience a heightened sense of self-worth and a renewed sense of purpose.

Our campers graduate week after week, having been introduced to actively pursuing friendships, goals, teamwork and a passion we have found translates to life-long lessons for leading successful and purposeful lives.

Divinity Family Services (Nonprofit )

Who we are:
Divinity Family Services is a 501(c) (3) non-profit child placing agency dedicated to providing HOPE and HEALING to children who have been REMOVED and PLACED in foster CARE.

Our History
Divinity formed in 2009 from a collaboration of ideas of several service-oriented members of the Texas Hill Country with a desire to serve local children who were victims of abuse and neglect.

As the number of children REMOVED from destructive environments continued to rise, it became clear that a faith-based agency with a passion to serve was needed to bring HOPE and HEALING to children and families.

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life." Proverbs 13:12

In 2019, seeds of HOPE and HEALING were sown in 942 children. We are currently serving 500 children a day. During 2019, over 150 Divinity families gave the gift of permanency to children through adoption!

Our Goal
Foster CARE, grow HOPE, always SERVE! Divinity's goal is to lead the State of Texas in providing HOPE and   HEALING for children who have been REMOVED and PLACED in foster CARE. We are changing the face of foster care!

At Divinity, we realize that to provide the highest quality of CARE to our children, we as an agency must provide the highest quality of service to our foster families.

Our staff ARE the difference!

A few ways we serve our families:

  • We operate with a commitment to return calls and emails within 24 hours.
  • A step-by-step, easy to follow, plan to become a licensed foster family.
  • Exceptional instructor led evidence-based training delivered in a convenient format.
  • Friendly and knowledgeable staff who are available to schedule appointments on the weekend or after 5 PM.
  • Providing post-placement education and support.

Sometimes, it is the little things that make a huge difference like answering our phones! Sometimes it is big things like showing up in court to help advocate for the family or sitting at the hospital with a child.

We go the distance for our families!

EWOP grew out of a long-standing and successful entrepreneurship program for men: the Prison Entrepreneurship Program (PEP) in Texas. The next year, a class of 44 women was selected to participate in the pilot at the Gregory S. Coleman Unit (previously known as Lockhart Correctional Facility).

In 2017, a pilot program was launched to modify PEP’s curriculum, services, and teachings to meet the specific needs of women. In partnership with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and Management Training Corporation, EWOP was launched in the fall of 2019 as a fully separate and whole 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that specifically serves women, to accomplish total transformation from the inside out with -

  • Leadership
  • Mentorship
  • Entrepreneurship

Our mission begins inside the prison system with a rigorous application and screening process of eligible women in the prison. Currently all women incarcerated in Texas are invited to apply.

The application process is in-depth, including details of past life decisions, desire for transformation, plans for reentry and an expressed need to change. Executive volunteers and EWOP staff conduct applicant interviews and then a scoring system is used to determine participants. All participants must have a high school diploma or completed their GED.  Successful applicants must demonstrate necessary intellect and a willingness to learn, grow as a person and transform their lives.

In addition to being the place where weekly worship services are held on Sunday, a meetinghouse in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also includes classrooms, offices, a font for baptisms, a kitchen, and in many cases a multi-use cultural hall.

We have programs for every age and stage of life that help our members live happier, more fulfilling lives. Come join us.
