The Archdiocese of San Antonio aims to further the spiritual, intellectual, moral, and physical development of every member of the Body of Christ. The Archdiocese reaches out to the disabled so that they can fully participate in the life of the parish, in worship services, recreational events and other activities. The Archdiocesan Ministry for Persons with Disabilities serves as an educational/informational resource to develop and advocate for the most vulnerable in our communities.

The Southwind Social Club is the second step in the Southwind Fields overall vision. This multi-use space hosts:

• Fun, purposeful and engaging classes focused on growing and refining social skills, appropriate peer relationships, strengthening independent living skills, and enhancing job readiness.
• A Monday through Friday program providing an empowering environment where adults with differing abilities may work towards holistic wellness (mind, body, and soul) and find meaningful experiences each week, surrounded by their peers, while serving as missionary pathfinders in the San Antonio community.
• A space for Local artisans to create freely and grow their skills in a supportive environment.
• A space for Locals to gather, hang out with friends, have some healthy snacks, play games, and build healthy relationships in their free time in a safe, encouraging, and fun environment.
• A space for budding non-profits and church plants to comfortably work, serve, or hold meetings from time to time, free of charge, until they have a place of their own.
• A space for evening gatherings, Local group events, and fun, positive events, open to the community.

Hill Country is a contracted provider of Home and Community. Based Services (HCS) and Texas Home Living (TxHmL) Medicaid waiver programs; however, we also serve as the Local Intellectual and Developmental Authority (LIDDA), which means we cannot and do not endorse any particular provider. If you or someone you help support receives services through HCS or TxHmL, our Service Coordinators will present all available provider options, including Hill Country, to help you make an informed choice about the program that will best meet the needs and goals of the person served.

Hill Country MHDD Centers provide compassionate care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing services that offer hope, support, and recovery.

Our Service Coordinators are trained in person-centered thinking and person-centered plan facilitation, which means they have learned skills to support individuals better to achieve their goals at home, school, work, and in the community.

The Service Coordination team assists with:

• determining eligibility for services;
• enrollment into programs;
• coordinating and monitoring ongoing services;
• placing individuals on the Home and Community-Based Services (HCS) and Texas Home Living Interest lists;
• helping students transition from school services to community-based services and
• aiding families in finding residential services for children and adults.
