Our program is a conservative training model which incorporates strategically placed incentives to encourage and motivate our participants to become strong, healthy athletes and individuals.

Lana Hernandez - Program Director

Street2Feet's mission is to promote health in mind, body, and spirit with individuals experiencing homelessness in San Antonio, using a walking/running 5k training model as medicine. S2F believes health and exercise is not a luxury for the privileged but a necessity for all.

Incentives are provided based on class attendance, participation, and achievement, as follows:

  • After 3 consecutive sessions, participants receive a re-fillable Street2Feet water bottle, running shoes and athletic clothing.
  • After 5 consecutive sessions, participants recieve a Street2Feet t-shirt
  • After 10 consecutive sessions, participants receive a Subway gift card and qualify to sign up for an off campus 5K Run/Walk.
  • Participants that log 30 miles in 30 days receive a 30-day bus pass.
  • Athlete of the Month, nominated and voted on by peers

Participants must first have a physical exam that clears them for exercise. This exam can be done for free at CentroMed, 1 Haven for Hope Way.

Once cleared, participants sign a waiver and program expectation agreement. Participants agree to attend training 3 times per week, follow program expectations and guidelines.

Participants are expected to move for at least 30 minutes following stretching and bring their water bottle filled with water.

Free.
