Provides consulting and training as well as advocacy services in all areas of special education. Able to attend ARD meetings with parents to help advocate for your Child’s rights; provides parents with information and training to increase their advocacy skills to make informed decisions regarding their child’s education.

Assist families within the family court system as well as families who have been referred through the Juvenile Justice System. My experience with the Justice system, in working with the education system and students with disabilities, extend from students from elementary through age 22.

Lorene Dillard Advocacy and Consulting will:
• Help you advocate for your child’s rights;
• Explain in a non-legal capacity my understanding of certain provisions of the IDEA, the 504 process and help parents determine which program(s) are appropriate for their child;
• Review all records and evaluations and create a case summary with recommendations;
• Recommend accommodations/modifications, supports and related services based on the individual needs of the child;
• Revise and/or write recommended IEP (Individual Education Goal) for your student/child.
• If your student qualifies under an eligibility of Autism, my services will ensure the services outlined in the Autism Supplement or (Commissioners Rules), which are 11 additional services, are explained and understood Understanding these additional services will maximize success for your student with Autism.
• Assist and support with any and all Manifestation Determination Review Process.
• Assist with Complaint Resolution up to and including Mediation and Due Process.
• Provide information on Extended School Day (ESD) and Extended School Year (ESY). Both of these services are provided to children who receive Special Education Services. For those who need assistance, if there Local Education Agency (LEA) or school is informing them "their child may not qualify", I may be able to help.
• Provide parents with information and training to increase their advocacy skills and help them make informed decisions regarding their child's education.

Schedule of Fees
• Non-Refundable retainer of $425.00. Services will be charged against this retainer.
• You will be billed at a rate of $85.00 per hour for services provided.
• Travel Policy - There is a travel expense, of mileage as well as a hourly rate of $75.00 per hour for time traveled, for any meetings outside a 15 mile radius.
• Scheduling Policy - When scheduling/booking a ARD/IEP date in advance, you will be required to pay a $100.00, NON-refundable fee to hold this date. This fee will be applied to your child's account and will be utilized as a credit towards your overall bill statement. Should the date of your IEP/ARD change for any reason, without 5 days' notice, this fee will not be credited or refunded to your account in anyway. To reschedule or re-book a new date and time you will be required to re-pay the $100.00 to hold the new date and time.
• Services begin when advocate has agreed to take your case, the retainer fee is paid in full and the contract has been signed.

**All clients receive a itemized statement before any payment is expected or due. Once payment is received, clients are issued an accounting statement, reflecting all payments made to their account. **
