The Union's purpose is to unite Baptist ministers in providing exemplary Christian service to the local church through special services and events.

The members shall consist of male pastors and membership ministers of the Baptist Faith, who are licensed or ordained.

Any minister in good and regular standing with a Baptist Church may become a member of The Union after completing an application form, after accepting the BMU Doctrinal Statement and payment of the annual enrollment fee. Payment of dues for retired pastors is optional.

A member is in good and regular standing with the BMU if he has paid his dues and his church representation has been met for all events listed under the Annual Events and Standing Committees section. (The BMU reserves the right to redirect all funds to events and/or special services where they are most needed.)

The Baptist Minister's Union of San Antonio & Vicinity is proud to continue to serve our community by providing scholarships to graduating high school seniors, current college students, and students studying religion at institutes of higher education.

This Scholarship Fund is named after one of San Antonio's former "champion's for education, the late Mr. Robert Washington, local businessman. We are grateful to Mrs. Washington to who continues to keep his legacy alive by partnering with the Union to fund a scholarship for a high school senior.

Because of the support of our members and community events, we are able to award $3,000 in scholarships each March. If you are a student, speak with your pastor to see if you are eligible.
