San Antonio Mastersingers (Nonprofit )

The Mastersingers' mission is to provide their community with life-enriching experiences through choral performances that engage the audience, challenge the singers, raise funds for worthy charities, and provide inspirational, educational, and moving musical opportunities for concert-goers.

The San Antonio Mastersingers has been the official chorus of the San Antonio Symphony for 78 years. Currently under the direction of Dr. Yoojin Muhn, the chorus is the first symphony chorus to be created in Texas, formed in 1944.

The San Antonio Symphony Mastersingers is a highly acclaimed, 120-voice chorus of volunteers from throughout the San Antonio area and is featured in select Symphony's performances as well as several independent performances to benefit various charitable causes such as local breast cancer research organizations, the Alzheimer's Association, the Memorial Holocaust Museum and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower.

Every December, the Mastersingers continues the community's tradition of enjoying Handel's Messiah which is also re-broadcast on KPAC, 88.3 FM, on Christmas Eve.

As a registered nonprofit organization, San Antonio Mastersingers depends on our community to support every aspect of our work. Ticket sales and performance fees cover only about one third of our expenses, so your donations each year are absolutely essential to produce a full season of high quality artistic work, while sustaining and expanding our community partnerships and educational outreach programs.

There are many ways you can support the Mastersingers. Whether it’s by making an annual fund gift, sponsoring a program, or leaving a gift through your estate, you will be a vital part of making sure the Mastersingers endures and thrives as one of the nation’s premier and oldest symphonic choruses.
