Camp Agape (Nonprofit )

Camp Agape is made up of many hearts that struggle daily with grief.

We work with children affected by cases of suicide, murder, drunk driving, cancer, heart attacks, drug overdoses, and sadly, even more.
We work to improve children’s lives and equip their families with the tools to help the entire family through the pain, anguish, and ambiguity of the trauma that is grief due to the loss of a loved one.

Camp Agape is a 501(c)(3), Non-Profit Organization that supports children between 7 and 12 years of age who have suffered the loss of a loved one. Camp Agape offers the fun and activities of a summer camp along with a creative program focused on helping children work with their loss, learn from their grief, and find a new hope from their loss. The four-day program is offered at no cost to the children through sponsorships by the private, community, and corporate giving.

A world where everyone has hope after loss.

The camps are held at Camp Capers, located in Comfort, Texas.

Kim Turk - Founder

Camp Agape’s Summer Camp Program is a bereavement camp where children are guided through a therapeutic healing process. The unique and innovative faith-based program includes the exciting activities a typical summer camp offers, with added group therapy activities incorporating art, music, games, and play therapy.

Summer Camp is designed to help the children understand their feelings, process their emotions, and find new ways to cope with the death of their loved one—all with the central theme of offering true hope for their future.

Summer Camp offers a way to connect children who have lost loved ones with other children experiencing the same thing. They are free to share their feelings, thoughts, and experiences. In this safe and supportive environment, children gain a sense of belonging and learn they are not alone in their grief.
