Mobile Comunidad is an outreach program committed to lifting people up by meeting a variety of social services needs, right where they live.
Mobile Comunidad provides connections to a wide range of social services for residents of Jeff Davis County.
Using the Mobile Comunidad van, the nonprofit offers isolated residents the following services:
- Food pantry distribution deliveries
- Bookmobile deliveries
- WiFi
- Hot lunch deliveries to Fort Davis schools
The Mobile Comunidad Van is a high-roof Ford Transit with dual rear axles, an extra electrical package to power
computers, wifi service, liftgate. It is outfitted with satellite internet and cellular service which is available for free at all bookmobile and Food Pantry stops. It offers isolated residents the following services:
- Public wifi
- Loaner laptops and tablets
- Launchpad Pre-K Academy tablets for early literacy
- Books, DVDs, and audiobooks to check out from our bookmobile
- Kids Pantry services
- Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County distributions
- Voter registration
- Faxing, copies, printing
- Notary Public service
- Certified enrollment assistance with Healthcare.gov
- Summer Reading Program
- Computer help/digital literacy
- Reference service
- Referrals
- Grab-and-go activity kits
- Little Free Library
Van services are available at the Food Pantry delivery stops in Fort Davis, Davis Mountain Resort, and Valentine.
All van services are free.
