What is Vault: Fostering Community

Vault Fostering Community provides resources to local foster families who bravely open their homes by providing a safe and caring environment for children who desperately need it.

Families are often given only a few hours notice to prepare for their placement. Vault desires to rally alongside these families and we would love for you to join us!

We give away essential items, provide a community and, equip local foster families with information and resources that they may need.

We provide essential items, clothing, and other necessities to:

  • Families involved in foster care
  • Kinship care
  • Respite care for children with an open CPS case

For foster placements, we provide resources within the first 60 days (before state reimbursement is in effect). Kinship families can make two appointments per calendar year.

We do not provide items for biological children or children adopted through private or international adoption.  We may provide items to biological or adopted children to make available other resources in the home for foster/adoptive children.

Volunteer

We are looking for more incredible team members to be a part of something amazing.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us! We could not exist without our volunteers, who we lovingly refer to as Vaultkeepers! Vault is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and 1st/3rd Saturdays from 10am-1pm. We are located at 16120 College Oak, Ste 103, San Antonio.

A typical shift will include sorting and hanging clothing, inspecting and organizing donations, accepting donations, greeting and helping foster parents “shop” – some shifts we are very busy, and other shifts are very quiet….however, we will always have a job for you!

Kidkeepers, are volunteers who help supervise children during our KidZone Play Days. This is a high energy and active opportunity on Wednesdays from 9:30am to 11:30am. The goal of these play days is for the caregivers to be able to connect with each other and our volunteers keep their kids safe and engaged in play in our sensory gym area.
