Our History

Esperanza Counseling and Care was founded in 2022 by me, Charmaine Pigue. After my mother, Esperanza passed away, I wanted to honor her legacy by creating a helping agency dedicated to helping individuals who needed counseling. Since then, we have grown into a thriving nonprofit, serving individuals needing help in our community.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 16 years of experience in counseling. I received my LMSW in 2003 and my LCSW in 2021.

I immigrated to the US from Jamaica when I was very young. While being a military spouse, I traveled and lived in other countries. These experiences helped me integrate cultural sensitivity into my practice. Each client is treated as a unique person because there is no one else like you. Getting to know the person is a high priority.

My practice is for those who are experiencing anxiety, stress, mental health disturbances, or spiritual disturbances. This world/universe is changing quite rapidly, causing us to feel out of our minds! My goal is to help those who don't fit into the conventional therapy approaches. I help with building self-esteem and confidence, and empower clients to be their best! If any of this resonates with you, give me a call. It is my highest calling to assist with your personal growth.

I offer a space you can be your authentic self. My specialty is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My clients tell me that I help them become more aware of what they are doing. They have a chance to grieve, grow, and heal from their experiences, so they can live a more positive life.
