The Expedition School’s mission is to provide the best and safest quality outdoor education experiences.
The Expedition School aims to reinvest in the community by providing:
- Quality, accessible, and affordable outdoor education programs and experiences; and
- Unique, hands-on, fun, engaging, and professional safety courses.
Individuals come away with new or renewed self-confidence, strengthened leadership, new perspectives, practical skills, knowledge, extraordinary memories, and a steward of the environment.
Outdoor programming must inspire a collective and enriching experience. We work with all ages and abilities in all environments to ensure a transformative experience. Teambuilding programs and custom-tailored outdoor education programs are developed for each group we work with so that we can focus on the core initiatives, strategies, and goals. CPR/AED and professional safety classes should be fun and relevant to the medical incidences particular to the area of travel, exploration, or location of the business.
Our environmental initiatives are an integral part of all programs. The Expedition School imagines a cleaner world through empowering ownership and action in each of our students. Every program is dedicated to leaving the area we explore cleaner than we found it. Furthermore, we hope that our alumni go on to implement these practices in their homes and communities as conscientious conservationists and stewards of our planet.
The Expedition School believes in teambuilding programs and outdoor learning.
Our programs are tailored for corporate groups, schools, community organizations, and more. Each program is designed to specifically meet your objectives be they team effectiveness, collaboration, or trust building.
We customize every program and team-build to cater to your mission, vision, demographic, budget, fitness level, and population. We help you plan the day to make it impactful, engaging, and fun. We also weave environmental stewardship, the utilization of locally owned and operated businesses, nonprofits, and parkland.
Rent kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards.
Ground School education and lifejackets are always included.
$10 per hour per paddler.
Are you water-safe? Our guides and educators offer both private and public classes for novice, enthusiast, and expert paddlers to better their technique, confidence, knowledge, and understanding of the many different watercraft we offer.
All lessons and classes are tailored to the abilities and outcomes of our student demographic, with the ultimate goal of inspiring the best, safest, and most environmentally sound practices.
In-person, virtual, and hybrid options are available. We are committed to improving the quality of outdoor education available to those who seek opportunities to recreate outdoors.

Our location allows for a greener experience, where you can escape the hustle of the city and relax in the midst of the parkland that graces our shores. And, if you would like to help us maintain the river, ask one of our Guides to hook you up with a river cleanup kit.
The Expedition School also offers rentals for special events – SUP Birthday Parties, wedding parties, or teambuilds. Group Paddles offer special pricing, dedicated guide(s) to help plan and execute the event, environmental education, and lifeguard(s) support. The Expedition School can accommodate groups of all sizes, ages, and needs.
We also offer guided paddles, led by our professional guides and educators, to offer additional peace of mind while you are on the water. We guide these paddles to offer water safety and drowning prevention, flora and fauna identification, environmental education, and moral support! Get in touch if you have something in mind. We specialize in custom, guided experiences!
Walk-up rentals are always available. Reservations are recommended for larger groups.
