San Antonio Community Resource Directory
San Antonio Zen Center (Faith / Buddhist )

San Antonio Zen arose out of a wish to share the Dharma and sitting practice in the Soto traditions of Shunryu Suzuki.

We aspire to benefit all beings (including ourselves) in each moment, unconditionally, with awareness, energy, lovingkindness, compassion, joy and equanimity, relaxing with what is, to realize awakening. Do not imagine that you must develop all of these qualities before you come sit with us. It is called “sitting practice,” not “sitting perfection.”

The San Antonio Zen Center community offers a haven of peace and harmony in which to engage in the arduous task of self-discovery through Zen practice. Welcoming diversity, the practice of zazen is available to people of every race, religion, nationality, class, gender, sexual orientation, age, and physical ability. May all beings realize their true nature.

As part of San Antonio Zen Center’s goal to make the dharma accessible to everyone, all of our regularly scheduled sits and Saturday program will be available via Zoom.

This is a mini-retreat geared toward new meditators, people who want to sit for a longer period of time without attending a full retreat, or even people who have limited time. The retreat consists of shorter sits alternating with walking meditation. We’ll have time for tea and questions at the end of the retreat. Please sign up at SAZC.
