The New Start program increases engagement in substance abuse treatment, behavioral health, and HIV services for underserved populations at risk for HIV/AIDS.

Program services include:

• substance use treatment
• mental health counseling
• patient navigation
• HIV testing

Eligibility criteria:

• must be 18 years old or older;
• must live in Bexar County; 
• must currently be using or have a history of drug use in the past 12 months; and
• must be living with HIV or be at risk of acquiring HIV.
