Young Achievers is an award-winning college preparatory program offered by Boys and Girls Clubs of San Antonio. Through weekly workshops, college visits, and a dedicated mentor program Young Achievers aims for its participants to enter high school with a complete understanding of the college admissions and financial aid process.

The signature aspect of Young Achievers is its mentor program. Over a 12-week period during the spring, service-minded adults match with a student in an effort to promote their intellectual development. Specifically, the program is designed to improve students' writing skills by addressing the college essay. Participating mentors coach students through the writing process, offering tips and strategies to make the writing process more manageable. The program concludes with its annual College Essay Writing Challenge.
