The Kitchen Table is the client-choice food assistance program of the New Braunfels Food Bank created to provide a variety of services with one goal in mind – to fight hunger!

Our Client Choice Pantry exists so that anyone needing food can get groceries for temporary relief.

How will I be viewed/treated?

We get it. Asking for assistance of any kind can be difficult. For some, it can even feel shameful. But it doesn’t have to be so with us!

We work hard to create a community in which everyone who walks through our doors—regardless of gender, income, race, religion, etc.-feels welcomed and has a dignified experience.

We want you to leave more hopeful than when you entered.

Keep in mind, because we rely on the donations of the community, the food on our shelves will vary. But we strive to always have the food groups that make up a healthy meal:

  • Fruits
  • Vegetables
  • Grains
  • Proteins
  • Dairy

How might I access the pantry more than once?

If you need to access our pantry more than once, you’ll first attend our Program Orientation and then connect with our Client Services Representative (CSR).

Remember, our pantry exists for temporary relief. Attending Program Orientation and connecting with our CSR is part of the strategy to ensure you’ll have food for a lifetime and never worry about your next meal again.

Once you’ve done this, you’ll be eligible to schedule a pantry appointment on an as-needed basis, but no more than one visit per month for one calendar year. After that year, if you believe you still need services, you’ll once again visit our Community Care team.

Access to the Client Choice Pantry is by appointment only.

What’s my next step to get food for today?

Getting food for today is simple:

1. COME IN to the NB Food Bank during regular business hours.
2. CHECK IN at the front desk and have a seat until your name is called.
3. CONNECT with one of our Community Care Leaders. They'll guide you from there.

Free.
