Gii offers refugees and political asylees opportunities to obtain job training, education assistance, and language proficiency training. Our services include:
For adults, Gii provides TOEFL training to fluent English speakers who want to teach English to Afghan refugees. In addition to providing newly arrived Afghans with English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, GII also assists with the test preparation for the CDL exam, professional training for fields such as customer service, and other fast-track job readiness training. To boost a sense of familiar home life, Gii also supports a cooking program, sewing and quilting program, and gardening club (through access to a local community garden).
For youth, Gii provides mentoring and tutoring/homework study sessions.
