The Goodwill San Antonio mission is to help change lives through the power of work. Goodwill provides career training and placement assistance for employment. We support our programs through profits generated through the sale of donated goods by our Retail unit and revenue from business services offered through our Contract Services unit. We invest 92.6 percent of our earnings in educational programs and career services provided through our Good Careers Academy and Good Careers Centers.

Following this 43-week program, you will be proficient in front office administration procedures, medical law and ethics, diagnostic equipment, anatomy and physiology, CPR and First Aid, injections, pharmacology, EKG, urinalysis, hematology, and microbiology.
Upon successful course completion, you will receive CPR and First Aid certification, a Certificate of Completion and be prepared for entry-level employment in a clinical/medical health facility. Additionally, you may be eligible to test for the Registered Medical Assistant national certification exam.

In this 12-week program, you will learn basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, infection control, safety and emergency procedures, patients’ rights, medical law, ethical treatment, and patient care. The program can be a stepping stone toward a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or a Registered Nurse (RN).
Upon successful course completion, you will receive CPR and First Aid certification, a Certificate of Completion and be prepared for entry-level employment in a medical facility. Additionally, you may be eligible to test for the State of Texas Nurse Aide certification exam.

Personalized Career & Training Assistance for Justice-Involved Clients.
Goodwill Reentry Services understands the unique challenges individuals face when reentering into society after being incarcerated, from reconnecting with family to finding employment.
Our staff provides one-on-one career coaching with a focus on:
- Identifying your career interests
- Developing your resume
- Practicing interview skills
- Completing online job applications
- Connecting to employers or training programs
Additionally, individuals have the opportunity to enroll in training programs, which include construction trades, warehousing, and logistics.
Requirements:
- At least18 yrs old
- Have a Valid ID
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Released from prison within the last 2 years
- Currently on Parole, Probation, or Supervised Release
- Can work full-time

With many students leaving high school unprepared to enter post-secondary education and/or the workforce, Goodwill San Antonio developed and implemented the Career Navigator program in 8 local high schools with a focus on increasing career awareness, job readiness, and college success. The career navigators serve over 1,700 juniors and seniors, providing assistance with post-secondary planning including:
- Identifying a career path
- Completing and submitting college and financial aid applications
- Joining the military
- Applying for a job

Our Career Services Specialists are here to help remove employment barriers with specialized, no cost career assistance. Our programs are individualized and tailored to the unique needs of every veteran.

Goodwill San Antonio offers FREE computer training through our Good Careers Center. The training is self-paced and tailored to meet your needs. You have the option to complete the training online or in person.

- Essential Software Skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Using Technology in Daily Life – Social media, digital footprint, online safety, information literacy, Supporting K-12 distance learning, and career search skills.

The Dual Generation program is focused on helping parents go to college or job training and making sure their children receive an appropriate developmental level of education. We can provide childcare for the parents to attend school/training and assist with job placement after completion (or during if needed).

In this 6-week program, you will receive instruction needed to obtain a Texas Commercial Driver License, including preparation for a written and hands-on pre-trip inspection, writing and driving exam. Additionally, you will have hands-on experience with over-the-road driving, blindside parallel and alley parking, coupling/uncoupling and much more.
Upon successful course completion, you will receive a Certificate of Completion and may be eligible to test for the State of Texas Class A CDL license.
