Our special needs Axcess ministry is built on the belief that Jesus desires a personal relationship with all his children, regardless of their abilities. We have created a program to appropriately accommodate and differentiate student learning.

We have two models in Axcess:

  • Inclusion for all ministries
  • Sensory safe classrooms

Inclusion for all ministries is where members are given a buddy to partner with alongside their peers in various environments around campus.

Sensory-safe classrooms are self-contained and allow for specialized and specific care for those with moderate to severe needs.

Registration is required. For any assistance or further information on our ministry, please feel free to email inquires to [email protected] or call (210) 496-5096, ext 1102.

CBC wants all of our members and guests to have access to the many large events and small groups offered throughout the week. Axcess works with ministries so that children, youth and adults with special needs can participate at CBC, both through inclusion and specially designed activities.

Axcess
Our special needs ministry is built on the belief that Jesus desires a personal relationship with all his children, regardless of their abilities. We have created a program to appropriately accommodate and differentiate student learning. Inclusion allows us to collaborate with other ministries to plan for small groups, large groups, and individual needs. We desire to partner with parents and staff to develop a plan for each participant in the church setting.

Models in Axcess
We have two models in Axcess.

The first is inclusion for all ministries where members are given a buddy to partner with alongside their peers in various environments around campus.

The second option is our sensory safe classrooms. These rooms are self-contained and allow for specialized and specific care for those with moderate to severe needs.

Transition Bible Study
Axcess also holds a transition bible study (ages 14+) on Sunday mornings at 10AM. This serves our older members who want to develop a better understanding and personal relationship with the body of Christ.

Separation and divorce can be one of life’s most painful, stressful experiences; a time of deep confusion, shame, and isolation.

DivorceCare is a ministry provided by Church Initiative in Wake Forest NC. They have been producing the video series since 1993. The videos and discussion are aimed at using grace, truth, and time to help in your healing and enhance spiritual maturity in your heart. Church Initiative principles provide the curriculum for this support group at CBC. Our vision at CBC is that “By using sound biblical principles, we create a warm, caring, and trusting group atmosphere where healing can occur and lives can be changed.”

For additional information click here.

DivorceCare is an open group that meets during a 13-week semester. Each class uses videos and workbooks. Videos are presented at each class and are usually 40 minutes in length so you can follow along with your required workbook which provides space for your note-taking.

At the beginning of each semester, the members of each group sign a copy of the “Covenant” to reflect their responsibility and accountability to each other. Visitors are never allowed.

To join DivorceCare, please go to CommunityBible.com/, click on “groups”, then click on the “Care & Support” tab, now type “DivorceCare” in the “Search for…” box. Scroll down and click on the group you would like to join and complete the registration form.

The Foundational Growth Series consists of 4 studies by Dr. Henry Cloud and/or Dr. John Townsend:

  • Changes That Heal
  • Boundaries
  • Hiding From Love
  • Safe People

Its purpose is to use sound biblical principles to create a warm, caring, and trusting atmosphere where healing can occur and lives can be changed. Each study is presented in a 13-week, small closed-group semester.

The Foundational Growth series is normally held during 3, 13-week semesters each year, typically Spring (January – April), Summer (May – July), and Fall (September – December)

Changes That Heal is the prerequisite study and it must be completed at Community Bible Church before progressing to any of the other 3 studies. You must register for and attend one of these Foundational Growth Series Orientation sessions only held before Changes That Heal.

Registration to attend Orientation for Changes That Heal will open approximately 4 weeks before the semester's start.

Registration info for the 13-week Changes That Heal classes will only be provided to those who attend one of the Orientation sessions.

Each session has a capacity limit and registration will close when capacity is reached.

Registration information is provided during Orientation. Must attend Orientation before attending class.

Changes That Heal is typically offered in the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Boundaries is typically offered in the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Hiding from Love is only held in the Fall semesters. Safe People is only held in the Spring semesters.

The Landing is Celebrate Recovery’s student ministry. This curriculum is designed to mirror the same material as the adult Celebrate Recovery (CR) curriculum, only designed for students.

The Landing provides a safe place for students to process life and the struggles that accompany it, provides tools to help them live emotionally and spiritually healthy lives, and points them toward the freedom found in Jesus Christ.

A typical night in the Landing will consist of a student’s connection with the leaders, God, Biblical truths, recovery principles, and fellowship with each other. Ultimately, The Landing can help students learn how to break cycles of dysfunction and provide tools for them to live free and healthy lives.

CR for students is geared towards Jr. High and High School age students, 12-18 years of age.

To register click here.  Parental consent is required.

CR and The Landing are always open to newcomers and meet on Fridays at 6:30 PM.
