San Antonio Community Resource Directory

AIM provides educational-based services to public schools, private schools, preschools, daycares, universities, city and state entities, and privately to individuals and families.

Some examples of these services range from individual evaluations, therapy, professional development, audits, instructional assistance, coaching, wellness programs, and community initiatives.

  • SPED360 - Ensure Federal and State compliance, while also ensuring ongoing training is provided to staff. Our admins will audit all new incoming records at the beginning of the year
  • SCHOOL - Whether you are a special education director, principal, or superintendent, we want to help your students. We partner with public schools, private schools, and universities to provide holistic services to learners. Our team consists of individuals who come from a background of working in education. Some examples of what we are capable of doing are doing just one evaluation, covering therapy for maternity leave, filling a vacancy for the year, managing a department, or providing multi-series professional development across the district.
  • REMOTE - Remote Education Services Are Your Best "Plan B" Welcome to the new normal. Learning has gotten pushed out of the classroom and it’s happening in new ways, new contexts, and new locations as we speak. We’re all rising to the challenge of continuing to educate our kids, despite the obstacles the pandemic has put in our paths.
  • FAMILY - In San Antonio, we run a private clinic out of our office. This allows parents, individuals, or organizations seeking to help a struggling learner access a team that normally would reside in a school. These services range from evaluations to therapy, and counseling. At the root of it, we seek to ensure that an individual can succeed at learning.

"I treat each individual as unique with their special needs. My approach is educational, non-judgmental, and designed to help individuals develop more effective emotional connections in their relationships. I utilize a cognitive therapy approach, primarily keeping in mind that thoughts affect emotions, and emotions affect behavior or actions.

In the event of trauma or loss such as a divorce or death, I will assist each individual with coping strategies and facilitate recovery for them to resume their normal lives."

Are you the caretaker of a family member, parent, friend or neighbor? Are you feeling overwhelmed or stretched thin?

Welcome to the club.

More than 53 million Americans provide care for adults and children who cannot care for themselves. Whether helping an aging parent, a terminally ill spouse or child or any special person in need, those giving care often do so at a great personal sacrifice of time, energy and income.

ABODE cares about caregivers because we, ourselves, are caregivers. We understand the many challenges associated with caring for those we love most. That’s why we’re offering the evidence-based Powerful Tools for Caregivers classes to help caregivers take better care of yourselves while caring for a friend or relative.

Join us and learn the tools and strategies that will help you better handle the unique caregiver challenges you face. This interactive workshop is designed to empower you to take care of yourself while caring for a relative or friend - especially if you’re caring for someone at home, in a nursing home or across the country.

Everyone will receive the newest edition of The Caregiver HelpBook, 292 pages filled with insights and resources on all sorts of topics we caregivers encounter every day.

Research shows that these classes improve self-care behavior, emotion management and self-confidence of caregivers and will connect you to more community resources.

Next session meets once a week for via Zoom for six weeks, 3:00 pm -4:30 pm, starting Wednesday, March 20.

To view available sessions, click here.

Interested in learning more? Please email Mary Thorsby.

The $35 course fee covers the cost of the The Caregiver HelpBook.

Celebrate Recovery is a Biblical and balanced program that helps us overcome our hurts, hang-ups, and habits. It is based on the actual words of Jesus rather than psychological theory. We'll be getting to know each other over coffee and discussing life issues.

During our meetings, we typically praise God in song, pray for each other, have Bible readings, listen to a Recovery-centered message, and go over some of the core principles of Celebrate Recovery.  Regardless of our uniquely individual "hurts, habits, or hang-ups," Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to seek God's help in our lives.
